I've been told that the Astra is a lemon. But that's just a few mates opinion anyway, don't know what they're really like.

Getting some paving done around the house. Had to move the V6 BA this morning to allow for bobcat access. It started and ran rough before dying sounded like no fuel. Ran around to the servo and grabed 5l of premium put it in and still no go... Eventualy rolled it down the driveway and used the bobcat to push it up the nature strip. Would have been entertaining to watch.
Got to work a little over half an hour late but there was no one there to complain so I won't tell them. NFI how I'm going to put it back up the drive though.

Any opel astra is a lemon. So so so many issues. Just Google it LOL. Next door had a vectra and every morning it would automatically turn the volume up to max and blast your ears out. Always breaking down and cost a fortune to fix... Not sure if the 07 are ok though.
Today I'm sick, and have to be on a plane in less than 24hours. Not looking forward to that :s

I'm working on this cluster**** of a database for Uni. Have to make a program that will randomly generate a weekly menu plan for a childcare center based on age groups and their dietary requirements, allergies and what days they would be present, what allergies are in which room, what meals have what ingredients and...ahhhhh! It's so damn confusing. All the while I'm looking at my assignment schedule knowing that I've got another two massive group assignments due in the next 4 weeks Also I'm committing some time today towards pondering the Work rims that I've discovered on Yahoo Auctions. They look so good! |

I've checked out reviews and mostly people have problems with the timing belt and a few electrical things (Like Ryan said, the stereo) on the base models. Not the CDX one were looking at. We've agreed upon the deal if they change the timing belt and PROOVE that they did so with a receipt its a deal. (That's if we get this car) It Has had full service history at Holden however that doesn't mean anything. Probably will be fine for my brother who does <100km a week. Plus its just under 10k Last edited by Ben; 20-09-2012 at 05:43 PM. |

My ex had a 2007.5 Astra, they had a lot less faults than the previous model.
She has had a coil pack fail and it ended up costing her more than a SP20 one!! It was a nice car to drive and she got over 60k from her first set of tyres! BTW a SP20 is under $10K and is a nicer car to drive! |

the model were looking at actually has really good reviews with the odd unhappy customer.
http://www.productreview.com.au/p/ho...5-present.html and a lot of bad reviews, but its not the CDX model specifically. http://www.productreview.com.au/p/ho...4-present.html I've told him of my findings and its not really up to me. I cant help if he buys it. He doesnt want a SP20, wants something newer. Originally we were looking at a 2011 swift, horrible things to drive though. This astra is under budget by about 8 grand :O and he's loving it. Must be easy to please |
