So, the drains are run and done, the sunroof is in, and the wiring is plugged into some random plug in the passenger footwell (and the earth to the C pillar). It's got 3 basic positions - open, closed and vent. But it can be percentages of any of those as well.
So with that all done and drying/curing, time to tackle the headlining? Nah, CBF. SDo i decided to trim the pillars instead. So, out came the scissors, spray glue and the material, and to work i went. So, cut a rough shape out of the material, spray the pillar front and back, stick the material down and smooth out any ridges, wrap the material round the back, trim off any excess, and press the edges down. Nothing too hard really, but the C pillar seatbelt cutouts were a bit of a pest due to having a hole through the middle of them. It just meant a little more stretching And a closeup of the material. ...and that's it, until i tackle the headlining.

3M 74 Super Foam Fast & Fabric Adhesive - it was $44 a can! It's used for sticking foam together (as well as fabrics) - and it'll tear the foam before coming apart at the join.

Clark Rubber, but any place that stocks 3M products should be able to get it.

Do you know the UV resistance of the fabric you chose?

Actually, i have no idea, and it didn't really cross my mind. I've stuck some hanging up in the sun to see what happens to it, so i'll see i guess! I have bought some marine canopy UV treatment stuff, so i might give that a try and see if it changes the color etc.
So, after leaving it to dry for a few weeks, i put a steering wheel back on and put a seat in it, as i was having withdrawl from driving it. Had to go to a mates place, and it happened to bucket down while i was out. The good: The drainage channels work perfectly, there's no leaks inside the cabin, and it operates without a hitch. The bad: none! I've cut the centre out of the original headlining and removed all the original aftermarket foam lining off the sunroof unit. I think the best plan of attack will be to put the headlining in, stick the foam in place over the sunroof unit and then but the material over (over?) the top. I don't think it'll be possible to do it with the headlining out as i'd hoped, and trying to allow for the contours of the sunroof unit etc might create problems. Either way, the headlining is on the backburner. The next thing it to meet up wth a mate to get him to rewire the ASC sunroof controls to work with the Mazda OEM sunroof control i've got. He's had a quick look, and reckons i'll be no problem. This then changes me using the original centre roof light - which gets positioned behind the sunroof opening - so about 15cm further back, which makes the map lights useless. So next quest is to find the centre roof light with the door controls but not the map lights, which shouldn't be too hard, i hope! I can get rid of the original one, as the Mazda OEM sunroof controls have the maps lights as part of the unit, which positions just behind the rear view mirror stalk. Much neater then. So yeah, no headliner unit all that is sorted out.

Developments:
Cut a hole in the headlining, as of course with the sunroof unit in, the headlining needs to sit a lot lower. But i've decided to make it a little more like OEM, and have managed to source some darker grey roof lights. As standard the BA has the one on the left, but with a OEM sunroof they have controls similar to these. Both of the new ones are actually from a 626 though, and look a bit nicer than the BA OEM ones. And it's booked in tomorrow for the wiring to be sorted, as i hate dealing with that stuff. They're going to have a go at hacking into the ASC sunroof controls (which are as ugly as sin) and making the Mazda controls work. Should be possible, but we'll see! Also did a bit more work on the shaved cam cover. That's going to be wrinkle coated soon, and i still need to make up a cover for over the spark plug well. And threw on some MS-01Fs in 16x7+35 just for the hell of it. They're the perfect fitment for BA - nicely flush-ish with the guards. Not bad, but i still prefer the MS-02s.

So, a deal came up that i couldn't refuse, and i've got a Garrett GT28RS sitting in the shed now.
It's a GT2860R with the Nissan S15 front housing, and i've got both the 0.64 and 0.86 rear housings - so i can start of smaller and the down th track get a littl more power if i get bored. Just the turbo though (not the manifold pictured), as i've still got my old T3 manifold which i'm going to chuck a T2>T3 adapter onto, as i don't really want to hack off the flange and lose the HPC coating. Same with the dump - but that needs a 5 bolt flange to replace the T4 flange on there now. The old manifold i'll reuse. Offset nicely to keep the air conditioning and still have a 3" dump pipe off the turbo. So, looks like the engine itself will be coming out for some internal work soon, and the gearbox being changed too. Some big changes coming! Once that's done, then paint
