Got home today after work to find 2 boxes covered in Japanese lettering taped together, mum said if there is any white powder in there ive probably been set up lol....
So opened the boxes and seen my JDM tail lights with autoexe covers on them, no white powder in there lol.... Big thanks to Rupe for getting them for me Just wish the covers weren't already stuck on but oh well... Challenge accepted, will be wrapping the covers in CF Vinyl and putting Gunsmoke Lamin-x on the lights.. Its going to look MAAAADD!! |

Ah, and do you heat it to apply it? I have left over CF Vinyl here that I don't think I'll be using. Not 100% sure on size but i have a feeling its about 1500 x 500?... ish, might do a lip. I'll measure it tomorrow night if you're interested

Wetting the surface your putting it on is best, have tried dry wouldn't wok like that for me.
Im good on vinyl for now. Definitely got more then enough to finish the tail lights. |

ok, so kinda allows you to move it in position while its wet. Do you just stretch it out over the curves? I want to do it but dont think ill risk it because i didn't go well with the vinyl, hence the leftover =P

sorry man thought you were talking bout lamin-x
Lamin-x: clean surface > wet surface > apply Vinyl: Clean surface, can use heat to apply, don't stretch it too much. just gotta work it, takes practice. |

ALL DONE!!!
Finally figured out a way where it wouldn't rip. I Kept tucking in on the inside of the cover and just kept ripping, so i decided to stretch the whole sheet over it and not tuck it in, I then cut the excess off around the outside of the tail lights, then worked my way back on the inside of the covers making sure I had plenty of meat on the vinyl when I cut it so I could then tuck it in and trim any excess off. Anyway the end result, will fit them tomorrow arvo when I get home from work |
