I reckon none cuz your car looks pretty good at the moment and do what project.r.racing suggests and paint the bottom of the front bar black and maybe the back as well like some of the rear diffuser things out there
But if you had to choose one i reckon option 2 is nicer cuz it has extra details

does anyone know if these will fit?
16x7" fronts 35mm offset 16x8" rear 38mm offset doesnt matter which is front or which is rear but will the offsets and widths be okay?

16x7 no problem. 17x8 +38 is about 5mm from my JIC shock body, so with a 16x8 and standard shock and the huge spring rest...you'd be pushing it. I think the tyre will be rubbing on the spring rest (and maybe the body) unless you stretch the rubber a fair bit

what width are standard rims?
if they're 7" wide or more, it will fit. I have 215/45 on my 17x7s

Im running 215s on my 18s with probably 1cm before it rubs on the spring rest so i dont see why not. Depends on the offset i guess

that might be cutting it fine.
easiest bet, go to the tyre manufacturer's website, they usually list a range of rim widths that each tyres size/profile can be used on.

help everybody..i need some motivation..
little background history just in case no one reads profiles..well i have a 1990 323 astina sp...bought for 2.5K..i want to mod it up..it already has custom air filter and extractors that's about it..but the thing that stops me from chucking more money at it is...that the car has once been in an accident from the previous owner and was a repairable writeoff i suppose.. are my thoughts too dumb?? i just need motivation.. i've also thought about getting a v6 hardtop but i can't find any decent clean ones so far...all over 200XXXkms... i didn't know where to post this so i thought i'd better post it on the random thread.. |

Im "considering" buying some classy 17" Mazda 3 SP23 snowflake rims with tyres for $650. Now, im currently running stock rims with 195/50/16 tyres, and the ones on the snowflakes are 205/50/17. I've looked at the tyre links in the suspension section, and it turns out I'll have a 6% (36mm) taller tyre diameter, and that at 100km/h on the tacho, im really doing 105.9km/h.
What do you guys think? should I consider purchasing or find something with a 40 series rubber so its accurate??

Mazda 3 rims run slightly more offset that astina rims, of be aware of that, as you may have rubbing issues on the struts. Should be okay as you are not going a wider rim. The snow flake rims are 17x6.5 yes? (Dunno?) and SP20 are 16x6.5 yeah? So to stay inside the legal limit, you'll need 205/45R17 tyres on a 6.5 wide rim. If they are 7.0 wide? (Doubtful!) Then 215/40R17 would be the go. But in my honest opinion, do you really want 6.5 wide rims? As is the same/or small increase over your current rims. And you'll only be adding 10mm tyre width to your car. $650 wheels + $600 tyres for the extra 10mm? Ryan /edit/ Just found thread FS on OMC, same offset. So ignore that bit. Yeah, Mazda 3 rims have a larger offset - 52.5 or 55 Im not sure Im running MX-5 17 x 7.0 rims with +55 offset and am not getting any rubbing but it is close. 215/40/17 on 7.0 wide rims is the go |

on the topic of tyres, whats the best place in brizzy to pickup some 215/40/17 tyres? looking for some budget/midrange ones, dont have the money to justify 300 on each tyre on a $4500 car haha. what should i expect to pay for a set?
thanks guys ryan |
