(Yesterday) I finally had time to go to Australia's Best Versace on Canterbury rd and get a shiny new pair of Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31s for the front, in 205/45/R16. With those instead of bald Falken Ziexs and with the wheel alignment the jitteryness in the steering is gone- it handles like a completely different car.
Also got a couple of soft windscreen wipers while there. I know the guy was totally being a salesman about it but I was actually concerned last time it was foggy and rainy that the wipers were streaking pretty bad and my visibility was compromised, so I figured I'd indulge and err on the safe side. I'll happily recommend the place too - after they were only able to beat Kmart Ashfield's tyre price by $2.50 per tyre they gave me $10 off the wheel alignment. Might go back there to get my suspension bushes and shocks/springs fitted. |

spent the last 3 hours pulling, prodding & soldering in a new cd player for the laser...
Realised it uses the same wiring harness as a falcon, which I found a little odd as I couldnt use my harness at all! Musta been an SP20 thing...

took the sleeper out for 2 runs over 2 days. power is strong, but i need some better suspension and brakes. chucked some Lucas oil stabilizer in on sat morning too and its really quietened down the lifters and my cold starts are near silent. good stuff this! fresh royal purple oil in a few days too.

overhauled most of the dizzy, the old insulation plate was cracked and arcing out and i now found IT was the reason for my revs dropping when stoping at the lights, and some time slugish performance. i traced my misterius oil leak to the very obvius tappet cover... the gasket was old and farked and when i removed it it literaly fell apart.. so i was wrong about thinking that my dizy was leaking internaly but im happy its not and this was a easy fix feels like a whole diferent engine. next is spark plugs and leads

i installed one doors power window setup.... only three to go.
also installed the centre arm rest cover and one of the headrest covers too. only gotta send the rears back coz they are too big. the rear headrests are a little smaller than the front ones.
