gearbox in a BA turbo conversion

hi

in the process of converting my n/a BA and i have a feeling that the gearbox will crack the sihts soon after its all up and runnning.. has anyone done a simmilar thing and experienced problems?? i am only going to run 6 psi and all bar the nessessary parts fo the turbo are stock... is there any other gearbox with a little more substance possibly fit onto the engine? (or tell me if that is a stupid question)

thanks

Ok, you've got the weaker of the two manual gearboxes that were fitted to BAs

Keep the boost levels low (under 8psi-ish) and you'll be fine with your F Series gearbox

Once you start making decent power you're more likely to break it.

Then you'll want a G Series (from 94-mid95 BA). But converting to that means new gearbox/clutch/flywheel/driveshafts/gearbox mounts/clutch line + slave

A turbo BG :P robbies.

I treat my gbox carefully... The cars running so smooth now its just fun to drive it and I want to keep it that way, so I dont tend to flog her as much as I used too...

Anyway, for your gearbox, it comes down to your driving, you can snap a gearbox NA just as easily as you can snap one FI. dont do any burnouts and try to avoid jolting tourqe through it... Be kind to it and it will be kind to you.
