[color=#000000ost_uid0]My bro is looking at an Astina and im just wondering wat standard wheel size was, no 1. because it has 14"s on now, and no. 2 coz he can only go 1" bigger for insurance. Mine was 14" standard ('90) but i thought the BA was 15"? Cheers guys.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]It doesn't matter what wheel size you have, be it 14" 15" 16" 17" or whatever, it's the wheel width that matters. NRMA stipulate that you can only go 1" wider than standard. For the 95 model [and onwards i think] they were 5.5" wide. That means that the [iost_uid0]legal[/iost_uid0] width can only be 6.5", which is the standard wheel width for most 15" wheels. You can get wheels specially made through some companies. I know my bro got a set of ROH Adrens. in 16"x6.5" for this exact reason. I've also seen some AME style wheels [like Big Mals] in 17"x6.5" on a Gemini [i think]. It's best to check with the insurance company first.

NRMA = 1" Wider than standard
AAMI = 2" wider [ i think, Boyd help me out here...]

Hope this helps

[color=#0000FFost_uid0]Adam,

I agree with the width restrictions, but there are also size restrictions, as i found out when hunting for insurance. Ive called heaps of insurance companies and since my car has the 17's they wouldnt touch it. I think you can go an inch or 2 inches bigger than standard, thats what i was told by the insurance ppl i spoke to. Some of them only allowed 1 inch (crap!)

Best thing to do is shop around...go on the yellowpages site and find every insurance company you can
