Ok, guys, this is the low down!

Firstly sorry Cosmo, neither Lucas or Protex make pads or linings for the Mazda 2, so i'm guessing its bendix or geniune only...

Prices, now i have some definate prices: *UPDATED*

Lucas

- DB1159 $50
- DB1177 $50
- DB1180 $45
- DB1267 $60
- DB1291 $60
- DB1362 $65
- DB1359 $55 (Maybe)
- DB1287 $75 (?)

Protex

- DB1359 $30

To give you some idea of other Protex price, i've also been chasing other non-mazda stuff, and everything from Toyota Coronas, Express Vans to VZ Commodores, the most expensive Protex pad is $40, generally a little less.

Standard protex is of similar quality to OEM, or entry level bendix... Or more than enough for your average sedate driver. They also make a Protex Blue, which is their upper spec pad, probably filling the price and performance gap between Protex Standard and Lucas, whilst not being as dusty...

I can find out prices on request, but unless your really worried about dust, then just go the Lucas... That Protex DB1359 which apparently Lucas don't make is on the back, so not a big issue... Everything else hasn't been a problem.

Postage Auswide is $10.00

Oh, and for the record, Gav decided to keep me honest and chase his own prices today... he got quoted $96 for Lucas DB1362!

Anyone who wants them PM me, i'll give you final prices, and bank account details etc, and if ya need postage swing me your address!

I'll find out prices for the hardtop tomorrow... the backs should be DB1291 ($60), but the fronts are either:

DB1177 ($50)
http://catalogue.bendix.com.au/image...nner_Outer.gif
or DB1287 ($?)
http://catalogue.bendix.com.au/images/DB1287.gif

The Lucas catalouge says the later only, so there's a good chance its that, but its always safe to cross check against Bendix...

Go back through the thread for a picture of the DB1177 Sumitomo caliper if ya need help...

Meh, they are only 7 weeks old I'm sure they still have some life left in them. I'll have to keep my eyes open. Bendix make good mom & pop brakes but I like a little better.

Yeah, i'm sure Lucas will follow, just not yet...

See now if it was a commodore, you'd already have them from an earlier generation! 78-97 is DB1085, and 97- is DB1331!!! EVERY SINGLE CAR, even VL Turbo etc... Makes life easy!

Yep, just the way it is, the more popular pads are cheaper. For example Commodore pads which are probably twice as big again are only $55...

The difference is retail pricing will just make the fronts VERY expensive so it looks normal, as Gav found out when he priced DB1362 at $96, when we've got them going here for $65...

If i had a Commodore I would be Sheep Dude and just follow the flock of brainless Holden owners who think that an Executive is a base model HSV.

Ok, apparently i can cross reference something else to get 1359 in lucas, $55, let me know who wants to go that way now instead...

I've priced, DB1287 for the hardtops out there, and its close to $75!!!!!!!!!! No idea why its so expensive compared to the rest, but i'll see what i can find out!!! Has anybody else bought these and if so what price have you paid?

I'll go for the lucas rear then, much happier to keep the same brand when possible. Were you waiting for numbers on this or are you just going to do each order as it comes?

Between AGT, my friends, my friends' friends, and another forum i'm on, i'm getting enough interest every 2-3 days to get group buy!!! So i'm just tallying up the orders and putting them in about once a week...

Rupe's and toyboy's are in the mail, and i think gav is picking his up today, but i've already got enough again to put an order in on monday, so let me know...

Only prob there maybe a short wait (like less than a week) on the Lucas 1359! I've bleed the local distributor dry!
