[color=#000000ost_uid0]What sort of piping (exactly) do we need?
Aggy pipe with the holes/slits in it wouldn't be the best I guess - kinda like drinking thru a straw with holes cut into the sides? Yes/No? Also, what is the best diameter for this? Do u use a black poly material?[/colorost_uid0] |

[color=#3A6EA5ost_uid0]Found a good little manual for making your own CAIS...
http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/coldair.html Bit moer complicated tan what Dan has in mind, but not bad. Also check out the new info from AEM Racing - someones making a science out of this stuff...[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Okay, answers to lots of questions:
Sik - yeah, normally 1 would be better, but at the time i couldnt get the piping that i wanted in a big enough size. Pr1mo - probably at my place as i'm organising this so you can all go to hell  Asterix - I used non-perforated agricultural pipe for my old setup. Not the best, but it works. best diamater is the biggest you can get! but probably no more than 4". I think the stuff i have is about 60mm Should be enough tubing for 3 cars at [uost_uid0]least[/uost_uid0] i'd say But if someone wants to buy the plumbing corners and pipe then we can give that a go - which would be better for airflow as the sides are smooth.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#3A6EA5ost_uid0]Take over of dan's street for a day. hmmm you might need to move some of those ummmm errrrr other ummm errrr cars out of your driveway though. we don't want ny ****boxes in the CAI Day Photos....
On the tubing - 3" PVC and a blowtorch so we can shape it.... Hay dan, just to throw another Q in the pot, where do you plan to run the pipe to?[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]in the past on the hatches the piping has been run to the bottom corner of the front opening. *In Dan's case he removed his parking lights and ran the pipe to where they used to be , with mesh over the holes.
I want to change my pipes anyway so someone can have mine ( 2 ) if they want. ... And if i manage to find pipe i like! * ... And i actually turn up [/colorost_uid0] |

[color=#000000ost_uid0]if Yyou want to push the astina out onto the street and [bost_uid0]back[/bost_uid0], you're more than welcome to But running piping for the HT is easy - there's a readymade hole in the lower grille next to the driving light. The Hatch is a bit more of a pain, as there's less rooom behind the bumper. As pr1mo doesnt have driving lights, we ran his to in front of the radiator to where the driving light would be. But i you want to cut a hole in the front bumper (a la EZZY) it'll be much easier ::[/colorost_uid0]

I love work - I can stand around and watch it all day BTW is there a date set for this? (don't you buggers dare make me go back through all the posts either  )[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]it already has a sheet over it! and if whoever does it is careful cutting the bar, it wouldn't have to be resprayed. Yes there is a date set for this...the day after Dogo's birthday! And yeh, if anyone wants to mesh their front bar at the same time, i'm sure that can be done too [/colorost_uid0]

[color=#3A6EA5ost_uid0]hmmm 27th. Camping that w/e but might come over if y'all still going in the arvo. so long as you don't mind seeing a dirty astina fully loaded with towbar, roofracks.....
but then again that means there will be plenty of abled bodied peoples to wash it for me..... I'll see how it all goes and give dan a call to get status when i'm on my way home...[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]ive been thinking for a while doing the hole in the bumper idea, so thats what i plan to do on the day. *and no, im not just trying to be like u , mike
And if any1 needs some electrical/stereo stuff doing im always keen on that ! * I'll possibly do some stuff to my system if im in the mood. i can bring ramps. *do we want ramps ? although its kinda hard to get a lowered car onto them, it is possible ! * Dave remembers making 'steps' for dans car ages ago to get it up on the ramp *[/colorost_uid0] |
