A mechanic told me the alternative to getting stronger struts for the boot lid is to get the existing ones adjusted to support the required weight. I guess they add more gas or something to them :?

that'll be because carmate etc are all made from fibreglass, while the STi one is Polycarbonate. because the STI one is a high turnover item, subaru can afford to get it tooled up for polycarbonate - whereas Carmate might get asked for 3 rear spoilers a year for an astina, so it's hardly worth it for them...

i knew STi spoilers is not made from fibreglass, i was told carbon fibre. STi spoilers are very expensive for the real thing, whereas replica STi spoiler is far cheaper but quality.......
a guy bought a OEM mazda astina spoiler & the dealer tried to sell him uprated gas strut as that OEM type spoiler apparebtly makes the boot lid bit heavier, thats why i know u can buy them, never did get round to buying them.

Did anyone notice the "RX8-style" rotor shape in the top of the bonnet of the bottom car?
