Engine problems
My BG astina SOHC 1.8 is having a problem, last night i took it on the hwy for a good test run and it only got up to 160 and stayed like that shouldn't they be able to go abit faster than 160 ?

Could be limited air to the engine.....have you added or removed anything here?? Maybe check your Airflow Meter Flap isn't sticking.
When was the last time you had your injectors cleaned (I dont mean Redex) Hows your fuel pump at high rpm?? Could be getting carbon buildup inside engine..... You need Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner Timing could be out Is it Auto.......Was the car in Overdrive,,,,was it set to economy?? There are 1000s of possibilities with the information you have given so you will need to do some further research into your dilemma first Does the car start at first crank of the key for the same duration as it always has? What is it like at idle? What is the powerband like through each and every gear? If you put the car in high gear at low speed what does it behave like? Are there any apparent emmissions? These are just a few examples for you Good luck |

****, if my 929 hits 160 I feel blessed.
BTW isn't that a touch above the speed limit? Why do you need to go that fast??

yes these you can easily push past 160...i feel i the only way youll ever go higher is if you are reving it near redline near each gear change well thats the way it is with my auto, sometimes i have to drop back down then go back up again when im near redline...
and also mate i would not suggest doin this over this weekend...specially wiht the amounts of cops out and also the DOUBLE DEMERIT POINTS...you get caught doin 20km over youll lose your licence PLUS a $300 fine...

i would not suggest doing this on hwy,but to go out to the stix somewhere find some flat wide roads, suss them out and have a bit of fun out where nobody will get hurt, complain or cop fines
