before we go off topic here
i didnt say i like him, and no i didnt read into that theory but i glanced over it and it didnt interest me at all. what did interest me a great deal is his theory of hawking-bekenstein radiation

anyway back on track
+1 for what marc said i did a few systems and my current one is the best so far. the car itself (hatch compared to previous sedans) has alot to do with the end sound output

Tony

Sorry about the off topic. Lets talk about the sub box shall we ?

Personally I would try to install it in the side wall and keep the boot space.

This is because my boot has been taken over by the sub/amps ( big box in the middle, amp in a false floor ) and my rear seats are getting damaged from carrying stuff that really should have gone in the boot.

yes i agree with you. i have a massive square ugly box smack in the middle of the boot that i got from autobarn cus i was waay to lazy and just moved houses and CBF finding my power tools and cutting wood. i virtually cant carry much apart cloths or gfs shopping bags lol. like i said b4 rupes boot is a good example of practicality

Sorry but i'll put in my 2c. I've got the subs in the side wells, yes its a great idea and saves u lots of space. Dynamat is a good idea. Just be carefull of what subs u put in, cause i have the 10" pioneeer slims and nearly all the grills u find just don't fit over the rubber they have on the subs rim. I made my side well boxes out of marine ply and bog (just to smooth the outside)with a fiberglass lining on the inside.

Luke, PM Mad Mat on here and get him to send you a pic of the boot install in his SP20, its all to the right hand side of the boot and looks rather neat for what it is...

You can if the resulting impedance ( ohms) is supported by the amp.

You need to know:

whether the subs are single or dual voice coil
the ohms rating of each voice coil
the supported ohms rating of the amp

Read up on matching subs to amps. There's an easy tool on the available combinations here :

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/wo...igurations.asp

as well as a lot of other useful bits of information.

Yes.

Each channel = 1 speaker

You'll want a monoblock amplifier ( which means that it just has 1 channel ) for the sub.
