Exclamation Cruise - 31st July

WORK IN PROGRESS

Hopefully this won't die (crosses fingers).

Proposing a cruise for the 31st of July. Its a fair way off so make sure you're free! Alternatively it could happen on the 7th of August. The sooner people say their avail the sooner its a hard date.

Initial route I propose is Caboolture > Beerwah > Woodford > Mt Mee > Dayboro > Samford. More details below including options for those who want a shorter or longer cruise.

Meetups:
First Meetup Point:
- Airport DFO @ 8:45am - DFO Meet Point
Leaving 9:10 sharp. If you're running late get to Meetup point 2 before leave time.

Second (Main) Meetup Point:

- Northbound Superservo, Caboolture @ 9:30am
Leaving 10:00-10:15 depending on stragglers. Fill up here! Not many fuel stops for the rest of the proposed route.

Sunny Coast Meetup Point:

- Beerwah Woolworths @ 10:00am
Leaving 10:30 depending on how long the main cruise takes to get there!

Route:
1. Take the highway up the the Old Highway/Steve Irwin Way turnoff, follow this into Beerwah.
2. Take a left through Beerwah onto Kilcoy-Beerwah Road, follow this to the D'Agular Highway
3. Left onto the D'Agular Highway and head through Woodford following the highway down to the right turn onto Mt Road
4. The first twisties begin. Follow Mt Mee Road down to Dayboro.

Food/Drink/Toilet/Fuel Stop. Apparently the pub does decent food if anyone's interested.

1. From Dayboro take Mount Samson Road down to Samford.
2. Take the right outta Samford and head down to the Mt. Glorious turnoff.
3. Take the left, head through Nebo to Jolly's Lookout.

Basic Google Mapping: Google Map, Servo to Jolly's Lookout

This should provide a blend of cruising on the open road and some nice twisty bits for the more spirited . People can meet in Woodford if they're not interested in the first half, I'll try to get the ETA in Woodford up as soon as its final.

This is only a proposal at this stage. I'd like input about the quality of the roads and whether it'd be a more interesting drive taking the right turn at the D'Agular Highway and head round Somerset Dam and back through Glorious & Nebo (although this is similiar to the last cruise I think?). If you prefer this then let me know ASAP.

What to Bring:
- UHF radio if you have one
- Directions printed out/GPS with programmed way points (whatever goes, just don't get lost!)
- Friend to ride shotgun

What Not To Bring
- A Holden
- QLD Cruising members
(jks .. sorta..)

Aiming for final route by the 30th June. All members are welcome of course, but no stupid stuff.

Add yourself to the list if you're attending or with [maybe] afterwards. I'll update this one as we go. Once we have a route & times, feel free to invite other SANE people, I like to know I'm not gonna get rear ended by a Lancer with no brakes...

Attending:
1. Dave - DavoAust - Red 3000GT
2. Sam - Samsara - Red 2003 Astina [Maybe]
3. Darryl - Orion - Blue SP20 Protege
4. Marc - marcs_sp20 - Blue SP20 Astina
5. Tony - 7ONYD - Red RX8
6. Rhys- Blue Protege [Maybe]
7. Ryan - project.r.racing - TBA [Maybe]
8. Mitch - Civic
9. Phil - Phildough - Grey 2002 MS Astina [Maybe]
10. Kris - Ice88 - Blue Protege [Maybe]

I'm hella interested in going on a cruise!

Will have to consult the calendar (i.e. the missus ) as I know that July is a very busy month.

C'mon peeps, lets whip out to this

What? Peachester twisties don't count?
If I attend I will meet up at Beerwah, as I live there.
Could ass in Bald Knob Rd and Maleny-Stanley River Rd for extra twisties.

Thats cool, lmk if you want me to swing you a txt if we're running behind.

Peachester twisties I completely forgot about. I don't spend much time through there anymore. I shall revise.

I think Bald Knob & Maleny Stanley Rds are a go, haven't been through there in a while and the driving portion of the day is only about 2:15-2:30 all up as it is, pretty short when its split up.

Think the gf has already shotgunned the passenger seat . I'll let you know if she changes her mind but you might need to bum with someone else.

Kinda disappointed that I won't have the new wheels/tyres in time for this. Guess I'll just have to live with power slides when ever i apply more than minor power mid-corner...

Also, I'm seeing a lot of maybes! Lock it in people

Sad How much did they have left to fix up? Reckon its worth detouring around?
