Took the red Bullet back to Croydon autosports to get Dyno tunned again after fixing the wastegate, befor the mazda put out 137.5 KW at the Wheels now the little bullet puts out 160.7 KW or 215 HORSES On 15psi of boost they Guaranteed me that this motor has the petential to run 180 190kw at the wheels no problem, but this is enought power for me

can the dyno also be fitted on a 2.0V6 engine? What does this conversion cost?
In holland the only thing that could be fitted was a twin turbo which would add between 190 and 290 HP to my V6 , depending on the turbo timing and pressure, but that sweet thing would cost me about 6000 US$ on sale and without the installing costs.. hope u can tell me more about this dyno kit...very interesting![/colorost_uid0]

Sorry to dissapoint you Colddragon, but the dyno that people are refering to here is actually a machine that tells you the output of your engine at the wheels of your vehicle ??? its not a bolt on accessory that gives you more power

so if i read it right the dyno is a boost controller or boost timer? hmm maybe i should read better next time..but then again....turbo mazda and a lot of you guys use turbo's on your 1.8's...same question again then, as my previous post, but replace the word dyno by the turbo you guys are using
stupid me hehehehe[/colorost_uid0]

yeh the dyno is a machine that you drive the car onto and the wheels of the car sit on rollers that spin when the car is drivven, the KWs and many other measurements are given. it helps the people tune them to perfection :: and also to tell you how much zooooom you have right... as foor a turbo on tha V6, dunno why ya couldnt but i dont know of anyone who has done but maybe someone with more knowledge than me can help you
later, adam [/colorost_uid2] |

i REALLY should read better next time AGAIN!!
when i read the posts over and over again i realize that i still havent gotten over my jetlag...from 3 months ago hahah any ways..yeah i had mine on a dyno(as you call it) also and my V6 (N/A) did 127 kW on the wheels...not bad ey? and 600US$???I wish!!! then i would have already fitted it in my cars like 5 times hehehe the price was on a sale(the guy who offered it to me put it in a MX-3V6) and still had one left.normal price then was 9000 US$!!!!! but it seems like that kit is more suited for a 2.5V6 engine, the one from the xedos9(i think it's called millenia there ini aussie) and the MX-6. i don't know if it's knight turbo www.knightturbos.com www.knightturbo.com but i heard that those aren't really reliable...what brand are you guys using? and now already am i not satisfied with my four braking discs(really compared to my dad's lexus brakes) ..what if i put 500 hp on it...would be kinda scary ey? is it possible to just mount rx-7 or millenia discs and blocks on my V6 astina?[/colorost_uid0]

Wow !!! Thats a lot of money...
6000 US$ is almost $12,000 AUS. For us a new Garrett BB Turbo is about $2500 Aus so 2x that plus between $500 to $100 Aus for a custom manifold is only half what you are talking about. That sounds way too dear to me !! Over here there is a trend to use Nissan turbo's off the skylines or 300zx's and two of those are about $450 each and then as before $500 to $1000 for a manifold was where I was thinking your $600 US = $1200 Aus came from. These are 2nd hand turbo's thou but do offer great bang for the $$$. Regards Mal p.s I would still only go single turbo the twins look great but are very tricky to get to work right especially if you went sequential against 1 per bank.[/colorost_uid1]

If you notice, all cars that come out with twin Turbo setups, if they want more power and reliablity they take of the twin turbo setup and put on 1 big Turbo such as a T04 or bigger, meaning that the single turbo would get all the ,Exhaust More Exhaust the harder the turbo spins and the quicker it comes on boost, where as with a twin turbo it only get half the Exhaust each and you can't run as much boost. plus it is double the work.[/colorost_uid0]

Under a standard car its a great idea and works fine.
Its when you want to make more power that it all goes wrong. Take a RX7 sequential. Change the larger turbo of the two to a bigger one for more top end and you get a flat spot where to turbo's overlap. Trying to upsize both to get the right transition of when the larger turbo takes over with aftermarket turbos takes a lot of time and money ala too much money. The RB26 is a bit easier as it 2 same size ones which is why you see so many people putting series 5 uprated RX7 turbo's on the series 6 but not as many switching to single on the RB26. Regards Mal[/colorost_uid1]
