pod filter enclosures

heres a question, when is a pod filter actually legal?
does it have to be boxed up and or closed off?
its just something lingering in my mind since i got my blue slip i had a similar discussion with the mechanic about?
whats everyone else's thoughts?

As far as I remember, ( in Vic ) a pod filter is not illegal.

From memory of the Vic books , you can't have :

* Oiled filters ( such as K&N )
* More than 1 intake mod ( ie either pod OR intercooler, not both )

But NSW is probably different.

thats crazy...........its so dam close to the engine still, i would think you would want it as far away as possible, after all pod filters are about cold air, not more air....afm does that for you....unfortunately...
