Nexen

Just searched these bad boys up and have read a decent amount of reviews for them. Apparently they're incredible for the price. Has anyone tried these/know anyone who's tried them?

I once had a set of nexen tires and swore i'd never buy another set.
They may have improved but I dont think so.
Most people on here swear by the Kuhmo KU31 tyres.
Im swearing at one of mine but ordered the same thing to replace it.

had 3000's when i spun out at 40km/hr on mt nebo. if you love your car or life (or both) take my advice and buy fedrals or khumo 31s.

the price is cheap, so incredible value for money... doesnt mean they are any good...

btw 215/40/17 (an unusal size) fedral 595's cost 113 (for the rubber only). cant do much cheaper than that.

EDIT: i am seriously worried when the 3000's are listed as "high performance" :shudder:

Heh, anyone remember those N3000s i wore smooth? I've heard the N6000's arent on a par with the kumhos/federals, the N1000's aren't bad though.

Personally, I'd still go 595s for the price.

nexen n6000 are good tyres if you are using them on a daily. if you can get them at a good price the n6000's are good for daily use and the occasional squirt. I wouldn't expect much in terms of performance compared to a ku31 (as a ku31 is so much more expensive also) but they are not a crappy tyre that everyone thinks they are. I know many people using them as front runners in skylines, silvias and 180s that drift in the dry and wet with no issues. the n6000 is also crazy quiet on the road also.

you'd be comparing them more to the federal 595, achilles, nankang and silverstone as they have tyres around the same price range. but out of the lot the nexen and federal would be my choice. picking out of the 2 would be just a matter of which one i can get cheaper at the time but i would also lean more to the nexen because oh noise reduction and silica tyre properties. but in saying that if its for daily use and the occasional squirt you will be happy with either.

Thanks mate. When it comes to getting new tyres, I will definitely do some research on them as well as the kumho's

Poop I just noticed this. If your still looking for tires, give Keith4Wheels a call.
I had nexens on my 8 when I bought the car. They were new so I didn't want to throw them out. Fun for burnouts, skids etc cus they have Very poor grip. Just bought a set of fk452 (what I had on the astina) and the grip improvement is amazing.
Keith also gives a very good price

Really? I just changed the ones on the BA, the car now has ~190k and I put them on with ~160K (prolly less) and they weren't new (bought them from nath) and they wore inside due to camber. But I did rotate them regularly (Back to front cus directional)
Perhaps they aren't as good as they used to be?
Well got a set on the 8 and BA now so il let you know if they changed BA still has camber (1.5 ish front and back) and 8 is stock
