Corksport Solid Shifter Brass Bushes
So I got some for free of Dave/Leah today. Ta. I have had a look at the instructions for installing them, and it seems like a very simple install.
My question is:- What do these do? Ryan |

Make your car vibrate like all $#!T. And take some wobble out of your shifter.
I would recommend the Gavspec nylon Ford bushing kit over these, but it won't take you long to try them and see for yourself. Did you get 4? Gav. |

So if I have very minimal wobble currently, do I need them?

Not really, if you don't have any slop, what's the point? But like I said, it won't take you long to wiggle under the car and try them.

you can only change 2 without cutting a bolt anyway from memory. its stamped so you'll need to cut and replace it.

There are 2 at the base of the shifter (if you're not using a TWM short shifter), and another 2 at the knuckle towards the front. And the 2 aeroplane jelly crystal bushings with the captive bolt. If you drill out the captive bolt, you get 6 in total, and there is a large rubber bush on the stabiliser that you can replace with urethane too.

Kartboy and Corksport may make them, in which case Corksport or ProtegeGarage would be your best bet to buy them. Now, since there was never a BA in the US, you might want to find out if the stabiliser bushing on the BA matches the BG or BJ. I just used a regular rubber one on the KE/BF, CBF'd trying to find urethane in that size, since it's much smaller than the BJ bushing, which means less slop anyway.

Or just get them for a BH/BHA - that's what i did. I got lime green ones that were made of some funky stuff.

Their Mercury Tracer and Ford Escort of the same persuasion might fit too.

your talking shifter bushes
hell, I made up my own. I've used both - Hi density nylon machined to fit perfectly and I've recenlty uses self impregnated oiling brass for the others. Best **** ever. plastics/rubber ones are okay, but even if the bolt is in good nick they don't fit like a nice snug fit. but on the joint near the gearbox you do have another rivited plastic one which will fail after you replace the gearbox and shifter side. It becomes the next weakest link. I do it because I have 6 spare rubber bushes 2 new - 2 near new and 2 out of a spare box. but I made up the others all mainly due to the fact I like it TIGHT I like it to shift as if your in the box it self. but yes your stick wil lbe harsh and you can feel all the forks and all oyur miss shifts. I don't recomend it if you won't be able ot replace the one in the rivited section. also any loose engine mounts will magnify that as well in your hand |

Brass or Bronzeoil is for the hardcore. Nylon gets my recommendation, and rubber is a waste of time...
