Melbourne 19/4/07 – MCCA cruise and information night

The MCCA runs a monthly night cruise so it’s members can get together, enjoy our cars and catch up. This month we would like to invite AstinaGT and other forum members to come along for the cruise, and find out about the Mazda Car Club of Australia (MCCA).

Maps for the cruise will be handed out on the night, and existing MCCA members will be there to answer any questions about the club, club permits, membership events etc. If you have been thinking of joining up for a while then bring along $60 and you can join up on the spot.

When: 7PM meet for 8PM cruise
Thursday April 19
Where: “The pits” at Albert park.
The pit area on the track is well lit with plenty of parking. It is located on the West side of Albert park. Enter via the Fitzroy St.

Here are some of the benefits of being part of the MCCA:

Good Mates:
All of the guys (and the occasional girl) make up a really good group to socialize with. We have members from major workshops, experts in most models, and some with years of circuit and drag racing experience. Club members are a great way to learn and get help with your projects, and we’re there to help out with parts etc.

Events:
We run some great events such as skid pan days, outings to the drags, drive days, night cruises etc. If we don’t get the numbers for an event we will often open it up to other clubs and forums, but as a member events will be cheaper and you will have first option. Also if you would like to get involved and have your say on what we do just come along to a meeting and let us know what you want.

CAMS affiliation:
We are a CAMS affiliated club, a requirement for some competitors, and great if you want to take your racing to the next level in future.

Club permit scheme:
The MCCA is recognized by Vic roads as a club eligible for the club permit scheme (Otherwise knows as CH or H plates). Club permits cost around $100 a year, and let you drive your (safe) car on the road to workshops, for testing and for any club event. Great for guys like me with too many cars.

Discount on insurance:
Most specialist insurance companies will give you a discounted rate if you a member of a recognized club. I got a good discount for my RX4, and seeing as they have very few claims from “genuine enthusiasts” I was pleasantly surprised with the premium. Participating in car club events really does separate the enthusiasts from the hoons, and they recognize this, as do the police in most cases.

The chance to get involved:
You can be involved in organizing events, voting in the executive and the general running of the club. We are always looking for people who want to make a difference, so just turn up to monthly meetings and have your say in what you want from your car club.

For more information on the MCCA see our website:
http://www.mazdacarclub.org.au/

Application forms are downloadable from this link, or the downloads section of the site.

Post up here if you are interested as it would be nice to get an idea of numbers. We hope to see some of you guys and girls along for the cruise!

LOL

It would be great to see some fellow Mazda owners out for the cruise. No obligation to join or anything, but it is a good club. Come along and show off your wheels
