What kind of Astina is mine?

due to all the newbies asking (not that that's a bad thing...)

Astinas are commonly referred to as BG , or BA or BJ on this site.

It helps to know which model you're asking about as they're all different. Australian releases too.

BH protege also came in 1.6 danny boy :P

forgive me if im wriong but im sure theres a 1.8 EFI 323 BG sedan

and the twin cam bg was called the SP

and probably a good thing to note that the hardtop is a sedan ... kinda ... some people might think there was a convertable model

also if we could have the first bit of the identifying vin number displayed next to each of those models it would be cool for identification purposes!

and thats for which BG? Astina i assume but which series? as isn there BG1 and Bg2 in the hatch?

There is a 1.8 SOHC BP engine for the BG Sedans. Like the KF/KH lasers. Just not very common to see.

Just need the years/months/codes for the BJs, and BK if anyone knows

Eh? Only 1.8 we got for sedan in BG was a SOHC.

The Protege sports edition was 2002 not 2001 (ours was built in May 2002, I think and the BJIIJ48 proteges/astina SP20's came out in June I think), I remember seeing the first SP20 Astinas early 2002. Also BJIIJ48's were still being made all through 2003, I think they were stopped sometime Nov/Dec 2003. 3's didn't come out here until late Feb 2004.
