Positioning of Ruel Pressure Reg in a BA

Hey all,
Spending some time cleaning up the engine bay as its a low $$$ excercise
just moving things around and polishing them etc. Am looking to relocate my
FPR to a better position. Factors to consider. 1 Chrome plated the fuel rail
and forgot to cut off the return line before chroming. 2. Have a mile of
braided hose cover to suit fuel line so adding a bit of length wont look bad.
3. Have a half size autometer fuel pressure gauge that would like to connect
direct to the FPR.
What I was thinking of was running the return line and the fuel line side by
side to either against the strut tower bulge thing or against the firewall
beside the brake booster. The power steering hoses make the strut tower
bracket a bit tricky and find a good mounting point against the firewall is hard.
I have seen Dans and Theo's position and I dont like where they are
(I dont dislike either ok) just want different eg lower than Dans was.
Anybody successfully placed theirs anywhere else and got some good pics to
give me an idea.

Ta

Mal

mine is against the firewall next to the brake booster.

There was a bold thread sticking out and a hole next to it - I think where the wall comes forward. I used this and made a zigzag bracket to hang the FPR under the overhang. From memory its somewhere near where the aircon pipe bracket sits

I'll grap you a pic tonight.

Probably more important is the vacuum/boost line to the FPR.

done have any pics of mine installed turbo, but at the moment it's down near the carbon canister running inline with the standard fule pressure reg.

Sounds weird, but without the standard GTX fuel resistor thingy it pumps enough fuel to read off the scale at the EPA testing station :eek

So it works well as a stealth install as it's yet another thing that Vic won't allow

Mounting of FPR

Rupe,

So you don't actually know what pressure your injectors are set to if you are still running the original reg in series with the malpassi.
Simon.

Simon you have seen the pics of how mine is mounted what do you reckon if
I just twisted the FPR 90deg so the return is facing down and then run a
longer return line under and up to the retun hole of the FPR. I can then add
the gauge to the outlet closest to the firewall with a 90deg bend adapter.
Saves bolting to the firewall and stuff.

Here's some pics of my FPR and the gauge for it when I pull my finger out.

And my Gauges, fuel pressure is the little one in front.

Mal,

You could leave the reg where it is and either mount the gauge remotely as you indicated or mount the gauge directly on the reg. The 3rd port of the reg is for the gauge.
1st port - connection from fuel rail (Pressure side)
2nd port - return line (low pressure side)
3rd port - Gauge port (same pressure as 1st port)
