JDM BG mirror schematics

I guess the mirror control box from JDM BGs are getting harder to find... no worries, I reverse engineered the box many years ago

I modified the USDM diagrams to have the power folding circuits in it... all wiring colours are the same between LHD and RHD, only connector locations/names do not correspond, no big deal!

Enjoy!

the glass in the JDM mirrors are clipped on... no screw!
just push one corner of the glass in then grab with your fingers and pull the glass with plastic frame off!

Hi TheMAN.
You are really THE MAN, because this is the information i was looking for for years!!
I just have one question, what you mean on PTC? Is that a resistor right? What is the value for those?
Many Thanks for all of this mate.
Best Regards

ByB

Hi.
Thanks once again for the information. I haven't know that component.
But i still have a question, does 1A PTC enough for that?
Thanks for all.
Best Regards

Thanks TheMAN for pointing me here.

I would also like to know if you could post what Values the PTC and diodes have that you used please? After all the Wiki page was helpful but still didn't give values and said " The rated trip current can be anywhere from 20 mA to 100 A."
A lot of numbers to pick from.

:-)

the diode you use is a 1N5557, google it
the PTCs I have no idea what type to use... they were poorly labeled when I reverse engineered it and couldn't decipher them... all I know is they gave a 1.7ohm resistance reading... I'm sure the motors will take more than 1 amp to move... the best advice I can give you is to buy a few and keep trying them till it stops tripping... you need to build that circuit to control the mirrors... if you tried to wire the mirrors to a 12 volt source directly, you risk frying the motors... I've seen it happen before

that is all the help I can give... any other files I may have are probably gone as I did this almost 10 years ago
