Suggestions for new battery tray

Hey all,
Firstly sorry for the pics taken at night with my mobile in the garage close to
1am I think my eyes were out of focus when I took the photo's.
Anyway I am trying to clean up some of the wiring mess in my engine bay
and the first step is to get the battery in the right place. Obviously from the
pics I have a Odyssey battery which is half the size of normal so I decided
to cut the battery tray in half and use the back half so as to mount
the battery close to the firewall and open up the engine bay a bit. Problem
is you when you cut the tray in half you end up with two mounting holes
diagonal on a plastic base so the damn thing rocks. What makes things
interesting is that right under the tray is a wiring harness so you cant just
sink a 3rd hole to make is stable. There is a 3rd hole but on the left hand
side was thinking of making some sort of metal support thick enough to
to hold the opposite right hand side. Finally if anybody has seen any really
cool battery tie downs let me know that factoru ones just dont cut it.
Here's some pics.

1. Factory Battery tray before cutting to show the V pattern bolt holes
ie outer end on right side and both in the middle on left.

2. Fuzzy shot of position of battery in engine bay.

3. Shot of Harness under Tray

4. Picture showing available bolt hole on left and also crappy std battery tie downs.

5. One more pic showing in front of battery and lack of places to bolt down to.

Ideas and suggestions welcome.

Mal

Yeh the boot's the easiest option then.

with a half-size battery like that you might even fit it under a seat !

or if u've removed ur aircon you could put it where the main cooler unit is inside the dash or the space on the floor between the firewall and the centre console/air piping

The Odyssey batteries are sealed so they dont leak I could put it in the boot but it
does cover the wiring harness as it comes out of the firewall so I would prefer not.
A custom tray in aluminium is what I had come up with today. Think I need to start
looking for a metal folding brake for all these projects I am talking myself into

Yes making one would be good have seen heaps of plans for them and the ones on
ebay sell for $90 and look pretty crap with small C clamps to hold the metal sheet
in place.
