No dice on daikin clutch. As far as they are concerened, it doesnt exist and no-one has been able to tell me otherwise.

GTX runs a 230mm clutch plate. Dont know anymore about it untill we pull the engine out.

But you can tell by the spline if it will fit your gearbox as a first point of
checking.

Basically the guys are providing a standard daikin upgrade kit (full face organic plate with ~400kg pressure plate) and replacing the diaphram spring with a HD item from i believe a holden of some description which will give the pressure plate a clamp load of about 1900pounds (~800kg). Cost is about $370 delivered to the door.

Ph: (07) 3277 9403
Fax: (07) 3277 9478

Exert from my last email to them:

"If you were to run 800kg of clamp pressure your clutch should be capable of holding approx 225 kw at the flyheel @5000rpms or 320 ft lb of torque.Cost of a full faced organic kit with 800kg of clamp would cost $315 inc gst+ freight"

Hallo all!

This may be my first post out of many in the future here! I'm living in (sunny) England here, and I have a 1.8ltr DOHC 98 323f(BA) with what seem's to be a slippery clutch which has lasted me only 12000 miles/ 19,300 Kms!!! Not good at all, it was changed less than 10 months ago! I reckon it was the dodgy garage I used, false economy.

Up on this thread you've listed the:
BA Astina / BH Protege ( 1.8 ) 9/95-9/98 200 x 22.2 x 20

-and you also mentioned the Daikin clutches. Daikin seem to have re-branded themselves to "Exedy" and in their website they have a PDF file with their full product listing:

http://www.exedy.com.au/data/clutch_..._catalogue.pdf

-on page 27 of that PDF, would the clutch for our cars be the: "Astina BA11P, Protege BH, 1.8 Ltr 16v DOHC" product code: MZK-6547HD (the HD bit stands for Heavy Duty )

If this is the one, I'll be ordering one tomorrow! Any ideas chaps?!

Thank you!!!!!

Yes I have used the 730kg pressure plate HD Daiken clutch on my turbo and after 3 years
had heaps of meat left in it and only needed replacing as a broken diff in the gearbox spewed
oil all over it. The current one has been flawless again for the last year am really happy with
it for a 8" clutch handling a tiurbo motor.

Does any1 happen to know what type of clutch the astinas come standard with? The reason im asking is because the clutch that was pulled out of my car while the gearbox was out was an exedy clutch :?
Either thats what they were rolled of the factory floor with,or my clutch was replaced b4 i bought the car which had 50,000kms on it at the time,if this clutch wasnt a factory item that means my car is on its 3rd clutch at 95,000kms :?
Can any1 confirm whether the BA Astina came with an exedy clutch standard?

BA V6 Astina '94 Heavy Duty Clutch Kit

G'day,
I have been getting some quotes from different mobs around Brisvegas/Gold Coast for a new clutch for the V6 Astina. Getting about the same price for the clutch kit but they don't give me the part number so that I can check that it is the same clutch I am being quoted on. Anyone know what the part number is for a Daikin heavy duty clutch for the Astina?? I checked the Exedy site and came up with the following: MZK-6540HDCB Does anyone know if this is the one I need?

Cheers

Doug
