Bad Brisbane Suburbs?
Anyone want to enlighten me of where I don't want to live in Brisbane, besides Logan? (waits for flaming from those who live in Logan...)

Yea i'd have to agree woodridge or cooparoo or anywhere on the north side ;p personally south side nicer place to live. Places like wishart, belmont etc.. are nice and free of alot of gangs, hoons etc..

put down the crack pipe. you know 90% of the bogan burbs are on the south side. all we have up here is redcliffe/caboolture. you have inala, woodridge, underwood, capalaba, west end, coorparoo and the LOGAN SHIRE!

sorry inala isnt really bogans...its a multicultrual subrub...it doesnt matter how many bad suburbs are on the north and south sides...
to be honest north side is a bit stupid cause it is away from everything...theres alot of brand new estates popping up on the south side and there make it better...

Saying that the whole of the northside is bad is like the pot calling the kettle black... Keeping in mind I know live at 8 Mile Plains, so have the right to comment both ways!

ok this is turning into a s**t fight.
places you don't want to be: inala, woodridge, caboolture, deception bay, redcliffe, underwood, capalaba, west end, coorparoo and logan shire. good places to live in inner city burbs (IMO): belmont, carina, carindale, kelvin grove, toowong. more suggestions?

I grew up in Coorparoo and have lived in Logan most of my life otherwise, and lived at Mt Gravatt East for 3.5 years not so long ago.
Coorparoo has gone really bad, and thieves/vandals will gladly walk into your yard AND HOUSE, and steel/damage without a care... Some of my family still live in Coorparoo, and this is becoming a bigger problem all the time. Logan gets it's entire reputation from Woodridge (Logan Central), Kingston/Slacks Creek and Underwood... I have had only one break in and car stolen since 1979 where I live, so it's not as bad as people think. Mind you, I do not feel safe walking around Shailer Park at night after say 8pm... Mt Gravatt East is awesome! It's very safe despite being near Mansfield, and I used to walk around there at all times. Of course there are places that look dodgey, and you would naturally just avoid those places (the same as anywhere...). Gav. EDIT: Logan is not a suburb of South Brisbane, n'or is it a Shire, it is a city. Last edited by chicaboo; 04-11-2008 at 07:19 PM. |

Probably ~$300/week rent.
What's wrong with West End? A lot of places are in New Farm/Kangaroo Point/Annerley. To be honest I'd rather be Southside, it seems easier to get into the city etc. Somehow North seems so much more detached

whatever you do, live on the same side of the city that you work on. crossing the river here is bull**** and you'll be stuck for hours in peak hour if you have to river cross. most brisbanites will tell you they stick to their side of the river, then insert a joke, but really it just sucks crossing town.

Truth be told, Ipswich (which is only 40kms ~ 30mins away from the heart of Brisbane) is becoming another hot spot aswell, crime is way down and more and more people are moving out this way... Im not being bias cause I live here...
All comes down to where you are working/studying I suppose... Marc
