If you haven't got an amp yet but are planning to get one, there's not point in redoing your speaker wires yet. Why do the job twice?

use what wires are in their atm...but solder then and heat shrink it much nearer job...
then when you get a new amp rewire it all in then, cause what you have to do is run a wire from the back of the car to the front doors on each side of the car

you could make sure you have good grounds and label your wiring now. it'll help **** loads in the future. the dude that owned my car screwed up the wiring something terrible. speakers were cutting in and out and the cd player didnt work. took me 2 weekends to fix it. pulled about 6m of wiring out of the dash, he just cut it off his amp, twisted it and pushed it back there. retard.
anyway, make sure you have good power and earth to the HU, and plan how you'll run the speaker wiring etc. remember RCAs and power dont mix.

See no one informed me about using the batery trick to find which speaker I was about to connect to which channel on my deck. So connecting say the rear right speaker for example to the rich output was a bit of a job.
If you are unfamiliar with this as i was, what you do is get the two wires that resemble each other, (eg blue wire with black stripe and blue wire with a white stripe etc) and put a AA batery to them. The speaker that they lead to will pop. I spent hours taking off trip trying to colour match the damn wire with the damn speaker. You can imagine how peeved off I was when I saw a mate sort it out in his car in 2mins.
