Strut brace arrived on Wednesday, doesnt fit.

it's the correct brace and all, but I didnt realise that there is an A/C line in the way

so yeah, need to either bend the line out of the way or sell the brace and buy a different one.



also, on my way back from work I saw this and couldnt resist:

hmm, havent updated tin a while ok, bulk lot coming!

#1: Number plate re-enforcement.


looks normal from teh front.


is thicker from the top


and looks ghetto on teh back, but thats no issue since you cant really see this bit anyway.

the plate was a bit flimsy and in danger of being bent when knocked, so I made it nice and strong!


#2: Fire extinguisher mount.

Little bit of peel, but I'm happy with the finish, I'll be sanding the peel down before the clear goes on.

the trial fit is just the first coats of colour, I still need to give them a little wetsand to flatten the peel then clearcoat, polish etc.

I don't understand why you did that to the reflectors.....aren't they illegal now?

still legal, I looked into the laws beforehand.

the basics are that on Passenger cars SIDE reflectors are optional, if you have them, they must meet all the criteria (colour, size, position), but you arent required to actually have them at all.

(that's for Vic, I didnt check other states)

you may as well have just bodyfilled over it, however i guess this way it is somewhat reversible

I'd love to get them completely shaved, but that would mean I'd need to get the bumper repainted, plus the cost of actually getting it filled.

this way all I did was buy a second set of reflectors, sand the lettering off, spray them up, and fit them.

much easier, and should the need arise, can be returned to stock in about 10mins.

good job mate, nice swirl free finish!! A-Touch MF towels and Waffle wave drying towel are the best!!! I love them... OCW is good quality stuff also. u could layer another synthetic LCP on tip of that for durability!

As a previous car detailer and such and such /wankfest I can only reccomend the 3 stage mothers system as "OMFG" in results if you put the effort in.

most swirl removers do what they are intended to, but for that final finish, nice good solid (not liquid paste) carnauba wax is second to none.

Ive found that the stage 2 and 3 of mothers carnauba wax is fantastic. the sealer and glaze is great, but then after 2 or 3 layers of their solid carnuaba wax, I've noticed that most if not all swirls and scratches simply dissapear into the wax. amazing results. it is a bit pricey though.

atm I'm using OCW, simply for it's UV protection and long lasting.

I'm thinking of buying some P21S and using that instead.

I know its off topic, but whats the story behind the modeo? I know its sad but I'd actually like a mondeo as a budget track car *blush*

Mondeo is my daily.

Mondeos are pretty good on the track, mine felt very nice around Winton an was able to net a 2:02 laptime (that's in stock trim, and the fact it was my first ever trackday, with a decent driver it's got an easy sub 2min)

However, I would thoroughly recommend against one as a track car, they arent cheap to maintain at all, parts are expensive.

but yeah, my Mondeo gets me to work every day, running as nicely as ever (a bit rough atm because its got a broken engine mount from hard Launches ar Deca)

it just looks a bit mroe hardcore now, the rear bumper got broken at Winton so it's taped up, and since the rear bumper's f**ked anyway I've just been putting stickers on it
