Well you walk into your local store... Ask for a W5W they won't really know what that is... Ask for a T10 they know exactly what it is!
They should know what W5W is... But most don't.

Same goes for BAY15D and BAY15S.

It's just the more store friendly term

All the packaging I have for my blubs has BAY15 etc on it. I keep the old one in the package for easy identification when required to buy again.

the 5 watt filiment always dies every 18 months on my tail lights. cos i drive everywhere day and night is the lighting on. some where between 400 and 800 hours of usage.

i've got a big pile of globe in the garage. there are some W5W T10s in there that flash 5 different colours like xmas tree lights. maccas cred bling right there. lol

why do you drive with the lights on during the day? it wastes more fuel and has no appreciable improvement in safety (US studies on DRL show inconclusive results, meaning it's neither good or bad to have DRLs... and US driving style and climate is comparable to Australia's)

cos i can, have forever. i see no change in fuel usage on or off, still get 7.2L/100km or 32.7 mile to the gallon in dinosaur talk. dunno about US studies, but look at eastern Canada, everyone does the same thing for some reason. habit i guess.

So why don't you go for some good brand SMD or LED globes??
Especially if you are eating through that many

DRLs are required by law in canada, and half the country (eastern canada does not count) has limited sunlight for more than half a year, it's beneficial to them as much as scandinavians do... the ones in very northern latitudes in other words

the US and Australia however have many many hours of sunlight per day, per year, that's why it's useless/wasteful to have DRLs in these countries, that's why the US studies have been inconclusive

when looking at studies from a different country when one isn't available from your own, it's always a good idea to look for one from a country that has a comparable climate, comparable road system and driving style... the US is pretty close (yeah, Australia is hotter, so what?)... European or Canadian studies won't do for that reason, definitely not for Japanese either... other countries? which countries are highly industrialised with their own automotive industries to conduct their own studies? Not any outside of those regions I mentioned

I'm making a list of bulbs for BA 323s.

I'll post when I'm done - this thread should also be made a sticky when the information is complete.

Here is a list of the bulbs that I've dug up from my research last night.

Also need to list fog light bulbs.

Rear reverse is not T10 in ba hatches.
The change in headlights is a date of manufacter thing. Which was two month before series three came out. Or they have just been replaced with the early ones cos the are a third of the price of the late ones. The are only referred to series three lights. Same as the change in Mazda symbols in 97.

If you wanna know what the BA have, just look in the back of the user manual. Both the hatch and hardtop share the same booklet. It is all there in text.

The fog lights are H3, as per the user manual.
