WTD: SP20 Stock double DIN stereo....

If any of you SP20 owning peeps has got a spare factory headunit I'd be interested in knowing what you think it's worth. Not looking for spending $$$, but rather want to experiment with something

If anyone has one drop me a PM and we'll disscuss....

Without revealing all...... I've got an idea about 'hacking' a factory headunit for the 'stealth' look. And I'd like to start with one of the better versions...

Aaron, If you're still looking for one let me know as I'm getting real close to finally putting a decent unit in, and organising a new home for the stock unit in advance would be great....

Nah this is for insertion intot he MX5 as the 'regular' headunit. Tweaks will be for AUX input, Line Output etc

There's no room in an MX5 for much else!

I have a Stock 6 stack cd player sitting in my room if you want to buy it

The only problem i can see is I'm in Bris, and you're in Canberra
but if you're interested, let me know, try to sort something out.

and, how much would it be worth anyway??

What they're worth and what they're costing are two different things. To me they're worth $100 tops... Considering we're going to experiment with the interfacing (read risk of blowing thing into a smoke hazard) I think it's marginally better than the 'nothing' it's worth in a box in the cupboards.

I have a J-spec HB SHE double din mechanical radio cassette and an Aussie spec HB ES double din electrionic radio cassette. They are yours for free if you want 'em.
You can have the factory amps as well if you want 'em but you will remove them your self when I'm next in Canberra.

I wanted the stealth look in my sp20, so i hooked up the standard unit to the high level inputs on my sub amp that i had just bought and all i can say is it was the worst sounding sub that i had ever heard! I rekcon the original head unit changes the sound signal some how to make the standard system sound better.
Thus i had too go out and buy a aftermarket unit for it, and like the guy said in the shop "u cant make jam out of ****" And he was right! The new head unit made such a difference.
I thought of selling my crapper stock unit for $50 but decided to keep it so i can change it back if i sell the car.
