Not sure about this though:

Quote:
Power is delivered smoothly and progressively, in a non-turbo-like manner
I know they are trying to ensure the car keeps it's grip, but can you turn it off for the fun bits?

Also, am not sure about the bonnet, I tend to think it looks a bit sp23 hatch/upside down boat thingy.....

Only my personal opinion of course!

LOL

Hmm.. i was unsure of the bonnet initially too, but then i discovered that the MPS has a top mount IC.. so it's perfectly functional to have it. No doubt it'll get re-plumbed by some people and a larger one put in the front...

.. and a bigger turbo..

.. and some better wheels..

.. and a freer exhaust..

When does it stop..

Not keen on the top mount intercooler myself, nor on spending $55K on a car that is only going to be modified........

Next please?

The look could grow on me. But top-mount IC, WTF?? There aint even any vents/scoop in the bonnet.

I like the sound of an MPS 3, but probably not the price tag.

Probably ducted like a HC Luce. To do a front mount efficiently (with minimum lag) you would need to design the shortest possable route for the plumbing, all this on in existing engine bay. This is the cost effective compromise.
If you don't like the $55k price tag imagine what it would be if Mazda had to redesign almost everything to accomodate.
If it had a scoop like a WRX people would critisize it for looking too much like a WRX. You just can't win.

I think one of the reasons that the WRX, and now the MPS, have top mount intercoolers is to cut down on repair costs. Even a slight bingle on the front will mash the intercooler which will cost extra $$$ to fix and car manufacturers can't afford the bad repair rating. Aftermarket modders can do what they like.

Well I hope they are using a water to air intercooler cause there is no vent for a air to air unless they have stolen the design from the eunos 800

And power split of between 100% fwd to 50-50, depending on conditions and how vigorously the car is being driven. :?

Does that mean if your on the edge of understearing it through a corner its gonna give you a push from behind. Could be fun

$55,000 price tag, umm not for me. But there could be Mazda 3 or RX8 awd Turbo's

I hope it sells well, so Mazda do more like it, but cheaper and lighter

I love the idea of a twin turbo all wheel drive mazda 6, but I have to say the thing looks bloody ugly my old have a luxury sport and I have to say that it is a much more attractive car.

And if they were to drop the engine in drive train in the initial it would only have been a matter of time before the olds would buy one, but now it is looking more and more likely that they will be driving liberty gt or the other ones with the boxer 6 im not sure what they are called.
