Tweeter Install BG front Dash
We've just completed installing a double din DVD and front door spreakers to Deks BG. We decided not to get coaxial door speakers after installing them in Etts BG, the top end tweets sounded so dull.
We picked up a Pioneer midrange and tweeter boxed set and investigated the possible locations for tweeter install in the front pillars/doors or the dash. After a bit of measuring we decided to mount the tweets up front sunken in the demister trim. Here are a few pics, the fitting location and the install stages. Sound quality? The end result is pretty acceptable, balanced ..... i.e, the tweets not screaching in one ear from the pillar, the midranges are more punchy. There is a cavity under the demister trim just the right depth to take the Pioneer tweets. I have posted some pics here: HTML Code:

Looks good man. Where are you mounting the crossover/amp thingy? Also are you using the existing door speaker wells? I had to get slimline speakers so as not to foul the window glass when rolled down.

Hi derb, thanks for your interest in my first post. We fitted 16cm Pioneer Separate 2-Way Speakers(350W) http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/product...04C/index.html - the set comes with simple inline crossovers that we were able to hide under the demister panel. The 16s fitted perfectly in the existing door cavities and there was no need to cut the door trim. We glued some simple dense foam on to the outer door skin and covered the inside of the door trim with 10mm acrylic wadding to stop the plastic dust shielding and the door trim vibrating together. A $250 install with a pretty "sound" result....
