another question for those travelling...how soon do you think we'd need to book a place to stay?

maybe instead of a pub etc, how bout a winery for lunch?

Hey Twiggy,

You reckon we could head down there in convoy? Split the accommodation costs maybe? I will need someone to hold my hand for such a big trip. We might need the canary to lead the pack to make sure the road is clear too!

Gav.

yup, that's what i was thinking. i'd much prefer to drive in convoy.

i like to leave brisbane early enough to get to tamworth for an early lunch, that way we get to sydney 5pm-ish

and for accom i was thinking if we're willing to go cheap (i am), caravan park cabins are dirt cheap and can sleep 4-6ppl for apx $50 per night. i've used caravan park cabins a fair bit and they are fine. much more roomie compared to formule1 hotels and cheaper too!

Sounds like a plan, we can work out the details closer to the date. Is Snurt and Nate+Kritta doing the Newy anual too?
You reckon the cars'll be safe overnight at caravan park accommodation? I only have the local industry to go by here, so it begs the question...

well after using them so many times myself i'm quite happy. you usually park your car right outside the cabin window, so it's probably safer than a normal motel like formula1 where you park sometimes no where near your room

and if we can find a tourist caravan park they are better because there are little or no on site residents (the people that give caravan parks a bad name)

This is my imput on what we could do:

-Firstly we could meet up at say 10 am at king street macas.

-We could then go for a cruise out to the vine yards and then on the way back at say 1 or 2 we could stop and have lunch at Morpeth.

-Maybe after that we could cruises back into Newcastle at say 3 or 3.30 and get some happy snaps of the group and a cars on the fore shore or maybe in that car park at Bar Beach where we took the photos on the small astina gt cruise back in september (which i think coincidently is the same place where the people who attended the last cruise took their pictures).

-After we get some happy snaps maybe we could on a cruise out to Lake Maquarie and then back into newcastle where you guys and girls who are staying in newcastle can book into your accomodation.

-I have never been on a big cruise but i am assuming that you guys and gilrs normally go out for tea or something. I was thinking if some of you are watching your pennies maybe we could have a big BBQ at King Edward park at say 7 or 7.30. But I am happy to do what ever.

-After this maybe we could all head down to the foreshore to celebrate Ausralia day with the locals.

-As for the following day, its up to you are you heading straight back home and are all of you ariving Australia Day. If you arnt maybe we could spend more time at the Vineyards and maybe we could make a trip out to Nelson's Bay.

-These are just some of my ideas but I am cool with what ever you guys and girls decied to do.
