Remove door mirror colour panel

Hey everyone,

Working on sanding, priming and vinyl wrapping my car and I am having difficulty at the door mirrors.

Is there any way to get the coloured bit off the car so I can easily sand, prep and wrap it without it being attached to the rest of the door mirror shroud?

1997 BAIII 323 5dr hatch.

remove the glass first then you can unclip it from the inside
the glass can just be pulled off... push one corner in, then reach behind with your fingers to pull off

Perfect! I pushed in at the top-outside and pulled out from the bottom-inside and worked very well. Then there was a clip to be pushed in at the top inside and the rest just came out.
