Bodykit decisions
Hey everyone,
I can't decide so i thought i'd get some second opinions... I'm thinking of either getting the Accolade ralli sport kit: http://www.body-kit.com/maz03pro5rs.html Or the Buddy club 2 kit: http://www.body-kit.com/maz03pro5rs.html I think they both look really good it's just the BC2 kit is a lot more common than the other one... I have a sedan sp20 but they told me they can fit the accolade kit to it too. I'm open to suggestions, thanks. |

I dont mind either, the buddyclub kit looks very aggresive, and so does the accolade, argh i cant even choose!
The only thing that would be killer would be shipping, and I wouldnt go to carmate to get it in tho...

I thought the shipping would be through the roof too but they quoted me US$675 and that includes shipping to Australia. Which i thought was pretty damn good.
BC2 haven't got back to me... So i think i'm leaning more towards accolade, i just hope it doesnt look so agressive because of those massive wheels. I only got 17's |

A bloke on here by the username of 2Brag was going to be putting a speedzone kit on his protege, then found out the rear bar didnt fit as it was intended for the astina, which was longer cause it was from the US (the Pro5 rear bars stick out about 5cm more then our astina's)... Would look killer when painted up . I reckon do it

Hi Sir,
Thank you for your e-mail. It's USD 675 including shipping. It fits with Sedan Version too. Shipping Time is 7 days. You can pay through Western Union or Bank Transfers only. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thats the email they sent me so they reckon it fits the sedan version too... If i buy it and it doesnt fit... i can always get the BC2 rear bar. ohh i really wanna get it now. would look real good! |

i prefer the BuddyClub Kit
Not a fan of the Accolade rear bar at all, but the front bar is ok - but it's a very big bare hole to fill with mesh (or an intercooler lol)

Protege2218,
I was actually looking at getting the Accolade Kit quite a few months ago. Did a lot of chatting with Protege03 about it too. Did some talking with some other guys on another Australian Mazda forum and found out the the suppliers of the Accolade Kit were not all they crack up to be. They have been known to ship the parts in wooden crates and don't actually inform you that you have to pay for the packing when it lands in Sydney (or wherever). 4 guys in the forum have ordered various parts from that supplier and in the end been slugged with an invoice close to $2000 for all the extra shipping costs, import taxes and more. Then there's the issues they had regarding the kit parts them selves not being as strong, stable and sturdy as you'd expect them to be. This is not my direct experience, but I have seen pictures of invoices, parts quality and damage. I was not very impressed by what I saw, and took the precautionary road and decided not to purchase and look for something available more locally. Just thought I might pass on my perception to the topic at hand, but in the end it IS your decision. Last edited by SP20XX; 21-04-2008 at 12:44 PM. |

OK Thanks a lot for that SP20XX, you could've just saved me a lot of troubles.
Cheers. Looks like BC2 is the way to go then, unless anyone knows of any other kits for SP20's? And if they ship overseas, because carmate is pretty expensive. |

Wow, I really didnt think they would stoop soo low as to make you pay an x amount and another stupid amount for shipping when it arrives. I was really considering thinking of buying that kit at the end of july but you have just saved me a lot of $$$$ & grief..
protege 2218, you could always try jetspeed kits, as they make a widebody kit, like what was on SP2NV.

You'll usually pay import duty etc on anything big and/or expensive when you import it from overseas, just fyi

Just had a look at the Jetspeed website.
Again... i dont know if they make it for the protege and not just the astina model. Why must everything be so difficult. |

You could always call them
And besides, the Astina and Protege are the same, apart from the rear bar fitment.

Yeah i know but that's just it i don't know if they make the rear bar for the protege. But yeah i should ring.
I like the jetspeed kit but, i don't have an intercooler to fill that big hole with i know i could fill it with mesh but i'm not sure that would look right... |
