Saint Bernards looks a bit rough these days and is really for yobbos now from what I've seen, and I think the dog died anyway... I've been to 3 or 4 wonderful places for lunch up there, so we might go see if we can get a copy of a several menus to see what people would like to spend their money on... 9 at Springwood Maccas sounds good, so unless Dwayne objects to that we should have no problems. Bring your walkies too guys... Andy, the southern end of Tamborine is VERY steep! Going up it is the only time I've ever needed to use the low range in the auto box to get up a hill! I do have some serious qualms about safety issues on that road, not all of us have better than stock brakes. So I will playing pace car on that section of road, whether people like it or not! C'ya on saturdasy guys, Gav. |

Just meet me at my place little Gav, and we can cruise over to Maccas together.
By the way, will you be free on Saturday the 26th for you and your mate to look at the DFA and AFR for the new car? I think it'll be my turn to drive up to your place too. Big Gav. |

Arg, I double booked, I've got a dA thing happening 3pm 2nd April, so I'll be going to that, plus means I don't have to get up at 5:30am to get to the meet spot...
I'll get onto my mate and ask him if he's free on the 26th, will let you know... (-: |

but the fun side is the side with the one way section, you can get some nice speed goin down the one way section cos u know there is no one coming up the other way.
ive done both way in the last 2 months and the steep side is the funnest, just gotta watch out 2 of the corners the recomend 20km/h u actully have to do that for die a not so fun death.

Well you don't know, you more sort of hope, especially if a motorbike rider thinks could sneek past any vehicle and runs the redlight...

OK, Tim and I checked out the course today, and have worked out a good program for the day I think. When I can be bothered at a more decent time I will put up the final details for the day when I think I've covered it from every angle...

Saturday 2nd April:
8:30am - Northsiders leave Aspley Maccas. 9:00am - Southsiders meet at Springwood Maccas. 9:15am - Northsiders arive at Springwood Maccas. 9:30am - Start cruise to Tamborine via Beenleigh. 10:15am - Arrive at Cedar Creak Falls for bushwalk to the waterfall and watch Nate chase the giant lizards. 11:00am - Leave for Eagle Heights. 11:15am - Eagle Heights rainforest walk, much better waterfall and walk experience with walk to lunch after rainforest walk. 12:30pm - Arrive at Granite & Grape for Wine tasting and lunch. I need to know who will be tasting! 2:00pm - Leave for more wine tasting on the top of the mountain. 2:10pm - Arrive at Tamborine Estate for wine tasting. I need to know who will be tasting! 2:40pm - Leave for Cedar Creek Estate 2:45pm - Arrive at Cedar Creek Estate for wine tasting and special surprise! I need to know who will be tasting! The special surprise might cost money (can't remember?), but I will find out the details in more detail this week. 3:25pm - Leave for Lookout. 3:30pm - Arrive at lookout to watch people hangliding and watching Nate play rolly pollies down the hill. Team Grey photoshoot. 4:00pm - Start cruise to Beechmont and G.C. Hinterland. After the oneway area there are 4 or 5 20kph corners. I tested the first of these at 25ish, and let me just say the road got very narrow quickly, and it almost ended badly for me. The next two of these corners are much the same, but the couple after that are a little more generous, but not by much! So I think this would be a bad place for some to test the limits of their cars. But if the Black Baron wants to go ahead of us and challenge the laws of physics, he may feel free to do so, but for other people that don't have so much money invested in their suspension, I suggest staying behind the pace cars (Me and Tim) through this section... OK, these times are pretty generous, and in actual fact would run much quicker I think. Lunch will be organised for 12-12:30pm for instance. The special surprise might have to be organised for a certain time, but I will see how much leniency there is on that, and once again, if there is a cost attached... I will be persecuted for driving past another winery I am choosing to leave off the list, but it is not a friendly looking place, it is very fancy but not inviting if you can imagine. If the peeps feel on the day we have enough time to squeeze it in after the Lookout, I think we can manage it, but it's not a place for everyone... Also, since I was planning on doing Andrew's successful Hinterland leg after Beechmont, some people might be all tuckered out and choose not to do it. This is fine, you will arrive at an intersection labelled Brisbane to your left and Natural Bridge to your right. I think we can just breeze our way through Andrew's old circuit and finish the day off Ho's Breath for dinner if people are interseted enough? Whatta ya think? Gav. |

Interest list so far:
Chicaboo Twinkletoiletegé Nate Tublade Pope|z0r 323GUY+friend? troubl? RedAstina? Zoomer* ROLL3R626* The special surprise will cost $7ea, and runs every 1/2 hour, I will need numbers to book this. If you know what the surprise is (or could be bothered following one of the links below) it is up to you as to whether or not you tell people before the day... Don't forget to lodge your interst in the wine tasting, there is a charge at some of the places for tastings, but it is not extraordinary or anything, infact Tamborine Estate is astonishingly good value at $3.50p/p with a free glass to take away! I forgot to give the wine tasting notes to Andrew on the weekend, that stuff all means nothing to me unfortunately... Look here for the wine stuffage, etc... http://www.granitewines.com.au/html/ http://www.tamborineestate.com.au/ http://www.cedarcreekestate.com.au/ Take it easy, Gav. |
