The new 2006 NC MX5

Beaten with the ugleeeeee stick!

What is Mazda thinking these days?

There is the boat Mazda 3, the Mazda 6 on steroids MPS which just has a funny bonnet, and now this........

Bring back the beauty and grace of the BA Astina, the last of the sp20's and the NB MX5... they all seem to flow easily, and not have these blunt edges and square boxy shapes..... Maybe Mazda is turning into a Volvo? They're not sexy, they're boxy!

Anyway, enjoy the look see at these pics.

If anyone can tell me what is located between the seats, whether it is air vents, speakers or a stash compartment, I would be very grateful.

Enjoy

Lots of Miata pics

** Moved to "specific" news.. **

I quite like it.. The NC still retains the same basic design of the out going model, just that the headlights, tailights and a few other minor cosmetic things have changed.. One thing i did notice was the pumped out guards.. It's interesting, especially sexy from the rear view though..

I think the syling in 90's was better, only good looking new mazda is 6, ah maybe mx5 is still good, I've just never been a fan of convertables/soft tops.

I like it actually.

except the indicator lights are troubling me. The ones on Adam's pics above are in front of the wheel bulge whereas this one is behind which looks far nicer IMO.

As for between the seats, I'm asuming you're talking about the seat backs? not between the seat bottoms (cause that's just plain obvious)

Looks as though at the top there's some speakers and then another hidey-hole compartment below that.

bumper includes some of the front guard to almost the top of the front wheel. There's a pic on Kitty's link that has a chassis on a wall which shows the pickup point quite well.

Agree with the BMW comment though think there's some Aston Martin in there also.
