Stainless headers for the v6

this is not a for sale post as such

What do you guys know about headers?
I have some lined up (about 10 sets) they are for the V6 MX6/prob etc.. I know on the 323astina the cat is part of the mani. So you would have to fit a separate one further down the line.. but would you want some? I can get them for ~250-300 2 your door

I don't have a V6 myself (boo hoo) but alot of the guys here do, put up some specs on them please, ie: primary and secondary diameter sizes for starters.
They look pretty nice by the way, and the price is awsome!

Are they the ssautochrome ones? They appear to have a decent build quality and the guys on probetalk seem pretty happy with them as they are 'almost' identical to the hotshot ones. As for the cat I would recommend a high flow cat if you are going with the extractors anyway, why would you want to limit your flow potential whilst you are trying to open it up anyway.
The prices sound good and if you are getting them in soon I will transfer some money to you as I had payed for a set in the US and I didnt have a CC so I sent a Western Union Money Transfer and they couldnt be bothered picking it up from the bank so I cancelled it now I need to organise another set.
I will be getting my catalytic convertor from Magnaflow to bolt up once the headers go on then I will organise a decent 2 1/2" SS exhaust system to get those spent gasses outa there
Does sound like you are onto a good thing there though and I dont feel that you will have a problem finding any buyers at those prices
Just wait till Skipp finds this thread then you will have a new best friend

Here's some measurements

Exhaust ports

Primaries collector

Secondaries flange

Secondaries pipe

Exit pipe

Full system

All the opening are 2" in the Primary and Secondary, they y-pipe has a 2" flange where they connect to the primary and secondary, but the y-pipe is about 1.6"~1.8" and bored out to 2" at the flange, then it goes into a flexpipe and come out 2.5". I have been told not to use the bolts supplied with these sets though as they aren't the best quality but thats just a small issue in the grand sheme of things
These are the OBX/SSAutochrome and hotshot sizes so I would imagine these to be no different

These are form the USA market (Aspec MX6/probe) but they are actually landed in Sydney.. And will be posted from there 2 you.. Apparently according to my guy all the Achrome, hotshot & TAMKO are all made up brands. They are all from the same workshop; these ones are from the same work shop but basically im getting to them before they go to the other retailers and get the boxes stamped..
Hence the low price..Im not making any money on them just passing on a good thing . .again I just want 3 sets for my self but the more I get the cheaper that will ultimately be.. (i was thinking 10 but can get whatever )
I have 2 sets being sent to me now (one for me and another or a friend) so I can check them out and make sure they ridgy didge (I have no serious doubts but better safe than sorry)

Like I said you can count me in I have my rego due this week but I will get in touch with you next week to grab a set.
If anyone is seriously considering an install of extractors in the near future I recommend that you seriously recommend that you give this a real consideration as this is an awesome price and as Mr MX6 said thay are the same as the other brands but a heck of a lot cheaper and you also dont need to pay postage from the US which alone is $90USD and being in Sydney will be a lot easier to get to your door.

HEY WHERE DID MY POST GO,
I posted on the weekend,

in case batman didn't get the point across, "I love you brother"

not that I can afford them ATM, more I can't afford not to afford them. So I shall find a way but yeah If you have fitted them to an Aus Spec Astina I am in for sure.

Lemme know how fitting goes but you 99% have another taker.

If they have been fitted to an Aus Spec Astina I imagine the orders should flow fairly freely, might even be worth PMing some of the V6 owners from readers rides if your looking for numbers (I'll do it if ya want), as it is very easy to miss things like this.

250-300 for headers and to triple the amount of chrome on my car, Irresistable.

Batman had a look at that site, and couldn't find anything, every search I did including 2.5 Mx6 came up blank.???
Whats one go for??
Could go groupie on that as whoever buys headers will propably want one as well. An idea?

Another interested party here. Don't have any doubts of them fitting the side of the engine, just in the clearance to the rest of the engine bay. If you can find out how far off the heads they protrude then we'll have a good idea if they will fit.

Alternatively, see if they fit the Astina that you sold to your brother. The Astina engine bay is awful small afterall but if they fit, I'm certainly looking

Shouldn't be that arduous a job for an exhaust place to fit them. especially if they bolt onto the same holes and fit within the engine bay. just a matter of bolting it to the rest of the exhaust.
If I knew that it matched to the exhaust then I'd probably give it a go myself!

That said, there is a lot of stuff in the way

The biggest issue supposedly, is the steering rack cause its on the other side in the LHD models.

I would be interested in giving it a go for my 2.3L V6.

I’ve been told that so many times .. But I can’t find any one that has actually tried to fit them..
So far I see no problems at all. .I think it is a bit of an urban myth.. Basically just people guessing..
The first set will be fitted into a v6 Mazda 626 on the weekend.
I have done all the measurements and it looks like it will go in no problem.. The loop is there in the stock 2.5v6.. I don’t know if you will have an issue with the cross member or not on the astina.. but it fits on a mx3 (eunos 30x)

do you have a miller?

the biggest problem your likely to run into is nuts/bolts/studs that are cold welded in place... will take a bit of effort to remove the parts!!
