Vaughan thanks for the pic I had a strange feeling that my car has a different loop to yours from the rear pipe so I will have to check and post a pic if I am correct.

Mr MX6 let us know how the install goes and the thing that I am concerned with is the bolts as a lot of guys on probetalk have posted complaints about these being weak.. They are supposedly prone to stretch with little torque and break guite easily also.
Are you using the stock bolts or those supplied.

Yeah there is not even an attempt at same length pipes,
Which I believe is quite Bad for performance,

And quite good for the potential benefits from replacing the suckers

Pete,
What year is yours? And when you put in the KF-ZE did you do anything to the exhaust,

Anyone else have a 94-96 V6 Hardtop? (with or without a Jap 2.0 Engine)

Lastly has anyone changed a V6 full exhaust, Cat back or muffler?

And another piccy, why not.

Vaughan,
Your pipes are even longer than mine! I have a '94 model and (from memory) the loop from the rear bank is much much shorter than on yours. It basically runs to the side of the through pipe and then forward to a loop that is right on the side of the main through pipe, not separate like your one.

Will see if I can take some pictures and post them up

The Ba1 and Ba2 use different exhausts.

On the BA1's. there are 2 CATs and are located on the manifold itself. There is no inline CAT as shown on skippys picture.
On Ba2's there are no CATs on the manifold but has a traditional inline CAT after the flex pipe.

Yep 1 cat per bank on ours 94 that is, still I will be going for a single cat system when and if I ever finish the engine
When the ZE went in I was in experienced in the engines and just needed one put in after an extremely angry driving stint that got me what I deserved.
And I was too out of pocket to get adventurous and think about modifying.
And I have a question also........
how much different is the mx6 exhaust to the v6?? would it be worth attaining an aftermarket exhaust like Borla and having it manipulated to fit the astina hardtop??

was thinking about doing that with a nice RX7 exhaust I saw, but since been told need a straight thru muffler otherwise you just get slight decrease in restrition with a big increase in noise.
Another one I like is off the 2.8 V6 A4 audi, hmm tasty.

Anyway Pete you said "Yep 1 cat per bank on ours 94 that is" is there a difference between 94 95 and first half 96 exhausts?

So is it true no one on AGT has done anything to a V6 exhaust?

The MX6 actually has a loop on the bottom for the rear bank just like the after market ones. Removing the loop causes power loss. It also uses a single CAT design.

I've replace the MX6 exhaust from the flex pipe back. 2.5" mandrel, high flow CAT, hot dog resonator to a Canon type muffler. Yes, it's loud.

I’m sorry for not keeping abreast of this thread as I don’t get email notification..(Im with Optus)
But .. all went well on the 626.. so sounds like a bunch of BS with the “it wont fit” thing.
But having said that it has not been fitted to an astina yet..
Nor am I gong to ..
But put it this way if you are thinking about buying a set . .get them via me .. not for my benefit as I make nothing on them..
Just drop me a line if you want them on mrmx6@optusnet.com.au

Again im just a middle man with the contacts , im not out to make any money..

There is no problems at all if you want them that’s all there is 2 it. I know these sounds like a tall story but my hard drive died and I had to replace it and reinstall windows etc. .some one did email me (I’m assuming it was you) but basically I lost all that info. .if you want to email me again we can work out the nitty gritty.. .Ill just require your postal address and .. well the money lol . And if you want you can go direct I don’t have a problem with that... but im not sure if he will sell 2 you as cheep as I'm a regular customer.. but again either way.. I’m not making any thing. ..... ..

So how is this dealy working,

can you buy in drips and draps or do you need one big order?

If the first I might wait till August (after holiday) but if not I will get now (price to good) but i just wanna see them fitted. Not that I doubt you fitted them just to see how they flow underneath and how far off the block.

Any Pic's of the 626? particulary Underneath
