Headlight Upgrade. BA astina
Hi Guys,
My headlights are terrible and probably a bit dangerous. 1995 BA astina. Can anyone recommend an upgrade? In addition to the regular low beam upgrade i'm thinking of adding two additional driving lights for high beam also. Recommendations? Sorry, I don't know much about head lights. Cheers |

Pretty common question with BAs. Just make sure they are aimed right and clean inside and out before you go spending big money.

Legal potion is a quality set of halogens. Check what you've got already if they are generic cheap ones buy a set of Philips etc. Or buy a hid kit. Which are illegal, but cheap and not dangerous imho as cars with reflector style headlights are when retrofitted.

Make sure you dont go past 4300k as they will start to look blue past that point and lose 'light'.
Doesnt the same ADR rule prohibit adding spot/fog lights and altering any original equipment? Doesnt stop 4WD guys, bet they dont get hassled. I reckon anything that makes your car more visible, like neons for instance, would make other road users less likely to hit you, lest you be blinding them or making them think you're an emergency vehicle! I say let the harleys' be loud, you know they are there at least. Saw a horrible incident in Coffs' over the weekend... Look to jaycar for cheap HID kits for H1/H3 type. |
