Ok here the pictures of the second prototype...

i recieved this email with it:

Quote:
Hi Gert,

I have got reply now from the factory. We have to may adjustment to achieve
the progressive colour effect. The solution they have came up is that the
colouring for the red area changed to a light red. The reason is when used
the original red when overlapped with the blue, it turns dark. Hence we
have tried everything we can, let me know what you think but now the colour
fade is working and it doesn't have the dark area previously have.

Also to mention in the picture, the one of the dials light up in the dark,
it is hard to take pictures, hence you might think that the red is not
apparent, but in real life it is enough contrast.

Best Regards
Gary Yuen

MY Garage
What do you think? i am not to happy with the color fading, looks like pink!

The rest looks good

i send him this email:

Quote:
Hi gary,

To tell you the truth, i do not really like it... the red looks pink...
Do you have any pictures when it is not lit? may be I can see the colour better. Couse the colour in the day is the same as in the night right?

Best regards,
Gert
I also send him this:

Quote:
Hi gary,

i just had another look at the colour fading problem. And maybe have found a solution (just thinking with you)

Is it maybe possible to make the colour fading go from bleu to light red (that pink colour) and then from that light
red to the darker red?

So make the fading a little longer. say from 6.5Rpm to 7,5 Rpm the "bleu" to the "light red", and then the rest
from "light red" to "dark red"?

This would solve the problem right?

And the inner circle can it still be made less bright, when not lit?

Gary, you did tell me you could make the design. so i hope you still can!

Best regards,

Gert Van der Stappen

Then i spoke to him.

He is going to see if he can combine the 2 prototypes.
So from blauw to ping and then from pink to red.

The problem is that red on top of the bleu always becoms dark, that is way they used pink...

They are going to do some testing, and i hop to have a update somewhere this week or beginning next week..

Sorry that it is taking so long... But this is out of my reach, i also think it s*cks that it is tacking so long....

But eventualy we will have very cool dials!!!!

ok good some bad news... they can't get the color fading to work...

2 days ago i got this email

Quote:
Hi Gert,

About the sample yes I will arrange that to send to you please let me know your address. Also here is some information about both of the sample: -

Sample 1 - With Blue --> Red

1) Material is not as thick as sample 2.

2) Outer Circle number lights up

Sample 2 - With blue---> Pink

1) Material is now changed and become more thicker and sturdy.

2) Outer Circle number does not lights up.

Hence the final product should consist of : -

- Thicker Material for sturdy

- Outer Circle numbers does not lights up

- I will request even lighter colour of blue in the center circle

- Still to decide on the colour transition effect.

Best Regards
Gary Yuen
and today i got this one:

Quote:
Hi Gert,

I have packed the samples now, will go into the post tomorrow. However I have badnews the factory won't able to do the 3 colour progression, hence the option would be from the current example either blue--> pink or the blue--->red. I personally think the blue---> red have more apparent effect, let me know.

I would like to apologise for any inconvience we have caused.

Best Regards
Gary Yuen
so i am waiting untill i get the prototypes proto types heb.

ofcourse it is possible to make them without the color fading...

I WOULD LIKE YOUR OPINIONS!

Gert, I honestly prefer the look of the 1st prototype. Is there a chance to get the 1st prototype made stronger/sturdier?

Prototype 1 day:

Prototype 1 night:

Ok, as you kan see the fading colours in daylight looks very good ;D
The colour fading in the night, i would make a little longer, so at 7500 Rpm it is full red.

Prototype 2 day:

Prototype 2 night:

It is a shame i connot get the colours of this on right..., But in real life i do not like them at all...

I think i am going to get them produced with the fading of prototype 1, becaus they look most like the original design.

I got them for 2 days now, and the more i look at them, the more il like prototype 1!!! ;D

total price will be €102,75 including shipment. (about UAS$$ 167,-)

I can get shipping cheaper (€ 16,75) but then they go with the boat and that takes some time... Then the total price will be €96,75
(about UAS$$ 157,25)

I have sold all, but i can order a few more.

I think i am going to order 5 more.

Ok i have made a dicision, it is going to be the colour fading of prototype 1.

I have send my supplier a email:

Quote:
Hi Gary,

i had a look at them.

Hence the final product should consist of : -
- Thicker Material for sturdy
- Outer Circle numbers does not lights up
- I will request even lighter colour of blue in the centre circle
- the colour transition effect of prototype 1

But there are some remarks.

First of all I test fitted both dials, but they do NOT fit… The holes of the 2 outer plates (gas meter and RPM meter) do not match completely!
Also when you put the front plate on it, they deform (all 3). After taking a closer look and looking at the originals, I found there where parts which still needed to be cut… I have highlighted only 2 in the attached picture. But maybe there are more. I think that will solve most of the fitting problem…

Second, is it possible the have the colour fading a little longer at the RPM section? Now it starts at 6500Rpm and ends a little bit past 7000Rpm. I would like this to be from 6500 until 7500 if possible. (and of course if it looks nice)

Best regards

Gert Van der Stappen
As you can read in the email they do not fit perfectly, but he is going to fix that

I will be on a holiday for a few days, but will try to check my mail, so i can keep you up to date. zodat ik jullie op de hoogte kan houden!
