What happens when the car is running (at idle) and you switch the lights on? Try doing this once the car has warmed up so that the idle is not higher than normal.

Also, see if the same thing happens with the fan going full speed to off or turning the AC off.

because your changing the load upon it, regardless of it being less

clean your iac valve, if its wrong it can't hurt to clean it up

never happens when a load is put on. just when that load comes off. it kind of feels like one of the cylenders doesnt quite fire

agreed, take it off and clean it
my car would stall at the lights if i boosted it really fast, then stopped

the revs would drop to around 200 rpm then backup again
other times it just stalls,

IAC or Idle Air Control
On the under side of the throttle body is an electricly operated motor that controls an air bypass valve. This lifts the idle when you:
turn on the head lights
turn on the A/C
turn on the rear demist
operate the power steering
a few other things
or if the idle gets below a specific limit.

Take the plastic pipe off the throttle body and give it a soak. Use a spray lube like RP7, WD40, Penetrine etc... and leave for a few hours before starting the engine.
