Help on removing antenna
Hi,
I have a BA11P1 June,94 and when I came back from home i notice my mast cable hanging out besides the car, luckily didn't fell off completely. Then I tried to feed it back i notice something was blocking it from feeding down in the motor. How do I take out the motor from the back? Any pictorial guides? Regards, John |

to take the motor out you need to take out your interior trim. its pretty straight foward but make sure you get all the little clips out before you pull on the trim.. there is a guide on club323f ill have a look for it....
http://www.club323f.com/ba/guides/bo...oot_panel.php\ once you have done that the motor is right under the hole for the antenna mast

The radio still works pretty well without an external aerial, but it will struggle for a clear signal in city areas with bad line-of-sight.

guys,
i have the 97 BA Astina and have put in my own system ages ago. now i 'accidentally' ripped out my antenna, and now whenever i turn on the car (headunit) the motor will go on as if it's pushing the antenna up, and subsequently when i switch off the engine, same thing. Anyway of shutting that motor up? thanks. |

There's a wiring plug near the motor of the aerial - you can just unplug it.

Yep, it's at the base of the aerial. You'll probably have to pull some of the plastic covers off to get to it.

less effort way is to dc the remote wire on the back of the cd player. its the same one that trips the amp on. that way its always down. i think that that was covered in a thread earlier bout installing a switch for the antenna, cus they r ugly n wreck the shape of the car..
edit oh if u dont know which one it is it it should say something along the lines of auxilarie control, or remote wire in the cd player instalation manual |

isn't there a separate fuse for the antena mast motor? just pull it out.

Will try to look at weekend
Thanks for now. Just curious, if i dc the remote wire from the HU, (and if that's supposed to trip the amp on) then wouldn't my amp not turn on? |

well if u have the one from the hu branching in to two.. one for arial one for amp (it has to branch at one point) then you can put a switch in. i did that but for the amp, cus it only runs the sub but its way to loud to b constantly on, n i dont wanna damage my hearing.. i sound like im over 50 LOL
