finally removed stereo

im happy to say i finally removed my stock stereo from my 2002 BJ II. after 6 months, 2 specialist, hours my self, i finally did it today.

1st i made 4 din tools. i tried hours trying to remove it but no luck. then i removed the middle sections of (gearstick), so i have a better view from the clutch. i had my head on the clutch and used my phone as a torch and managed to see that the clips were too out, so the din tools werent pushing them inwards. so i got long screw driver and pushed them in and then push in the din too. i did the same to the other side by removing the glovebox 1st.

i hope the pic works. the white box is the clips. the yellow arrows is where the din tools should come out of but instead it it was behind the clips where the red arrows points to.

its was a long afternoon today. just because the clips were a bit out, it took me 6 months to remove the stereo.

today was a good day tho. i also bought a cannon muffler. going to get it installed in afew days cos no shops r open being sunday

so basically u buy the mazda to uni iso. plug it into the jvc hu and to the existing cables (jvc <-> uni iso <-> existing plug)?

is all mazda plugs the same and is all jvc hu same plug?

that's correct, u connect the jvc to the uni iso(you should get a jvc to uni iso harness in the box along with ur HU), iso to existing plug(buy from supercheap)

sorry it's been ages since i've done this, but i think it was either a mazda or ford laser harness.
i just had a look on the website and it may be a ford harness.
http://www.aerpro.com.au/list.php
look under harness and then pick your car.
