running amp off standard headunit

hey all,

I was curious whether it was possible (and safe) to hook an amp and subs up to the standard 02 bj sp20 headunit?... i do have a alpine headunit one sitting in my room, but i would rather keep the standard in if i can!
cheer

Dave
