EOI- [QLD] Importing Used Engines
A few QLD members have recently expressed interest to me in going through what I went though earlier this year and importing a used JDM engine, but I suggested this time doing it en masse to lower the shipping costs per unit.
At the moment we are looking at bringing in some used low km (30,000-80,000km FS-ZE engines from Japan via NZ as I know people who can locate good engines in Japan and for some crazy reason purchasing used engines via NZ is surprisingly cheap and no QLD engine importers I have spoken to interested were interested in helping as it wasn't a Nissan or wanted to charge $2500-$3000 to do so. We will also be bringing in a Toyota MR-S engine and a Silvia engine and gearbox as well so other engines are possible but will require a bit of extra work to locate them. We are looking at placing the orders around Feb with about a 6 week delivery time. So if anyone wants to replace or upgrade their engine now is the time. If people from interstate want in they are more than welcome. Shipping it from here on may ruin the cost saving however. Any questions please ask. |

Hmmm how many engines will there be to fit , maybe I should spend the money and put a hoist in at the parents inlaws property.

I have done alot of wiring research to get Phil's car going and running the way it does now . If anyone wants harnesses to be modified to run in BJs let me know . Post here if harness required and what your car is.

If your after a gear box get one here as there were only 209 manual FS-ZE sold in Japan.
Cost is going to vary on how many engines we bring in and what you get. Just so you know I paid AUD $2000 for my MSF engine + ECU + dash + loom landed here. At the moment engines are less than NZD$1200 (AU$914) + shipping + customs + AQIS + other BS. Rhys has said he can help as he works in the shipping industry. Yep.. provided that we have someone helpful on the other end & we have somewhere that we can deliver the container to & leave all the stuff until we can put the engines in, it should be reasonably straight forward(ish)

I have family in NZ that can help but the people im dealing with said that they could do it if needed.
Bringing in multiple engines has to be no harder than me brining in one. I hope. |

Familia GTX, GTR and GT-AE are almost extinct in NZ now, the teenagers/bogans bought them cheap 10 years for $5-10K and killed them all long ago.

I'd be interested if someone in Melb wants to install it and get it all going for me

The wiring harness can be modified to suit here in QLD then shipped with the engine to you.
You can continue using the FS-DE ECU and upgrade the ECU at a later stage. |

I don't really have the tools or knowledge to do an engine swap.

Any good mechanic can install this as its a bolt in fit.
If you intend on re using your ECU all you need to do is swap the fuel line from the DE onto the ZE. |

Hrm, still interested though, see what it's gonna cost anyway.
My FS-DE at 140k has a couple of spots where an oil leak is beginning. Might be worth replacing the transmission too (slushbox!) |
