Got the under-drive pulley off the in-car engine today and replaced it with a stock version. Car feels a bit more sluggish due to the added rotating mass but there are some noticeable benefits such as improved idle, more stable engine deceleration and improved alternator output.

On a slightly different note, installed some -7 heat spark plugs the other week when I changed the oil and pulled the remote filter relocation kit off. Car started first thing in the cold this morning and first time on a slightly warm engine when I picked it up. I think I might stick with this type of plug

probably placebo effect on the spark plugs... these are brand new, and the ones you took out were used

you don't need 2 step colder spark plugs for N/A... they are too cold... carbon will NEVER burn off the plugs and they will quickly foul... even most turbo guys don't need 2 step colder plugs unless they have big turbos and lots of boost, but many people install them anyway because they are sheep and just do what the people with the fast cars do

fact of the matter is, you want to run the hottest plug possible to maximise efficiency... you want it just hot enough where you don't get preignition.... NGK #6 heat range should be the coldest anyone should go on these cars unless they somehow are making 300+hp... furthermore, iridium spark plugs resist heat wear and preignition better due to the fine tip

When I went to the parts store, they didn't have 6's so I went with the 7's - consider it a personal experiment to confirm they are too cold.

Fair point on the placebo effect.

Got a load of bits from http://www.gslrallysprt.com to unpack....

All new brake rotors

My new "legal" springs

QFM HPX pads to suit my hybrid Astina/Mazda6/MX5 rear brakes & v6 Astina fronts

I don't have pics but also a new radiator came in that bundle.

I'm now waiting on the Braided brake lines and the calliper rebuild kits to arrive. Still need to source a master cylinder rebuild kit but have a spare master on the bench thanks to LaserLynx.

Need to drop my "spare" driveshafts (thanks again to LaserLynx) off at the local transmission specialist to clean/check and throw new boots on.

Wire brushed the boot to remove all the surface rust. Painted 2 layers and it has already started to look new again. Might do one more coat tomorrow.

Drove to the gold coast to buy a cheap intercooler for $30. Got there and he had sold it to someone already after I said I was on my way for $50. Why do people do that. It irks me

Got a fair bit finally accomplished yesterday.
new driveshafts in, and right driver side brake caliper/rotor/pads/braided front lines. tightened bolts, and put all plumbing back in.
over the last couple of months, have been at a slow process of changing 4 stud to 5 stud, v6 brakes, bj ball joints, new tie end rods, braided lines(fronts done, rears will be sent to me soon when made to correct length) new clutch ceramic/organic clutch(not so aggressive as 6puk ceramic clutch) dropped gearbox twice, and replaced with laser lynx box, laser lynx intermediate shaft, brand new bg driveshafts with 626 ge inner joints, mx3 mazdaspeed 4way adjustable struts with eibach springs... think thats about it...
OH and Digi Dash was put in earlier this year. BUT has all now been put together, and on the road!...

Change scale on fuel... 5 - 15 l (cursive l. Not sure if litres). Trip a and b and reset trip. Change dimmer from green lights when headlights on to normal colour as shown during day. Green lights is affected by dimmer and can go quite low in illumination.
