lately ive been really seriously thinking about doin a gtx engine conversion on my astina since talkin 2 u boys. but i was speaking 2 some one during the week, and he gave me an interesting option.
he said stuff the cost of the turbo coversion and the probs it brings (**** like the cops and the fact that my sis drives the car sometimes and i dont trust her with a powerfull fwd car). he said to get a nos kit, with some other minimal mods. at first i thort it would cost more all up (with the initial purchase and then continually buying the refils), but ive been looking at some of the 50hp or so kits and u can get them for bout $1G, and u can rent the bottles and just pay for the gas refills. it looks like i'l need just basic mods like air filter, exhaust, extractors (and someone said maybe oversized throttle bodies). and i'l need most of this for the turbo conversion anyway. and apparently nos is only illegal if its connected at the bottle while driving around, so all that needs to be done when driving around is unscrew the tube. im waitin for a reply from a supplier, to see if it will be worth doin, what needs to be done and the costs. anyone had any experience with nos, i no its very volitile, but it will at least be different and still mainly stock. so what do u boys think??[/colorost_uid0]

its something like a $16,000 fine in canberra to get caught running NOS in your car... if cops find it you are screwed...
so cops will hassle you more... and no matter what anyone tells you NOS does destroy your engine... it makes it work harder so therefore it wears it out quicker...[/colorost_uid0]

yeah i figured it cant be great for the engine.
also with the cops, theres no extrenal clue that gives the cops the hint that nos is in use. so why would they bother u more??[/colorost_uid0]

You should read up on NOS. With forged pistons you
can get 5-6 seconds before the pistons melt. Stock cast pistons are about 1-2 seconds. How much fun do you think 1-2 seconds of power will be. No much. Don't think its like in Fast and Furious where you just keep on pushing the button for more power. Turbo power if done right can give you 70-100% power increase from a 2500 - 7500 all gears for as long as the foot is down not a pissy 2 seconds which gets you nowhere. Mal[/colorost_uid1]
