Have you seen the first few seasons of TGUK? They were just as bad. It's taken them years to perfect their show.

Well having a past conected with SBS here in Sydney. Let me note a few things.

fisrt off I personally don't like it and think it's a bit hard for a nation of 20million to really have any chance of producing a show tha'ts reviewed based on million dollar cars.

EG don't expect Zonda's to be test driven only 1 of them registered in NSW and 2 Keiongseggs things as well.
Compared to approx 10 Veyrons in the UK alone.

The other thing is I know with SBS. They like to cover there arse.

So they don't really want hosts who are to how should I put this WRONG. They have put alot of background work and are under guidlines set by the network.

I worked on 2 episodes of the 1st season of fat pizza. I was only an extra. No you can't see my face directly and I didn't get paid.
This program amazingly has brought in the most money for SBS in quite sometime. It will proberly be on for bit longer and maybe alot longer.

I personally have no problem with local car reviews.
be it Holden or Ford. Even toyota.

Alot of people dont' like Warren and that's understandable. He's Proberly TOO NICE. if you know his cartoons in the Sydney papers and even articles, it's NO westy or bogan.
Most people have been brought up via the internet and SBS with the UK version.
With a host who - is Plainly a opinionated Jurnolist. Yes some of us know he started way back but after original top gear of the 80's and during his time when he worked his voice around the networks and BBC, he was not always liked. But he always kept his opinion and used with a sense of humour is the Clarkson you all know.

The problem here in Australia is. You go and get a Australian equivlant?

Can you name one ? THe closest person I can think of is one man. SAM NEWMAN. - yes he's into cars and his beloved AFL ( I don't know what team)
but look hat he did for in SA just over crowds for Port.

but he's always in convroversy for his opinion but Nine stick by him.

Here in NSW where SBS is in effect it's head. You can't have that unless you are on a network and pull in BIG BIG BIG audiance. In effect, you need to be So popular and everyone agrees with you that even if they found out, you once had a threesome with a transvestite and a horse, they still wanted to listen to you because you could see the funny side and Cope the crap and still go on, being a ARSE.

SBS have hired in effect the safest people. It was part of the criteria. Good driving record because they knew if it takes off, they will be under the spotlight hard. In effect they already are in some papers. Questiosn were asked over will it cause more young people to hoon.
But if you have FOXtel you got blood sweat and gears into seaons 2 and it's actually worse but still rates ?

James Morrison has been around for so long. Ohnestly I'm surprised he's still alive. I remember him like well he did quess spots in HEY DAD. For those young ones back in the day when we had a decent television industry - Australia had Sitcoms of it's own. Clean nice, and Funny.

Warren maybe good in paper but he's too much Mature jurnolist. A bit like fits the Uper class Uni versity Union rugby supporters then the Collingwood - AFL - and Rugby league - Bulldog Working class supporters.

IMO best way would be to hire, a WOG. Yes a WOG can fix it. Or a Aussie grown up Wog style. With stlye - bad recoord and has fixed up GTHO's Monaro's and GEMINI's what ever.
Then have them fight on TV.
Piss off STEVE as much as he can drive nad he's the the stig. You need normaly guys. Not guys who actually drive.
It's the whole things like Clarkson don't like Vauxhul so I don't drive or own a Monaro etc. But it's great fun.

You get, That guy tell you bro being a tight arse Corrolla is the best car it won't break down but I won't be seen dead in it I'll buy the Mazda because it's got stlye or I buy the VW because I want to be wank.

Thats what you need.

Here in Aus people want shows like Torque back.
As much as silly ideas like people Famly cars that can actually take a hairpin at 50km/h above the sign posted limit it's just want people want to here. They may know it's a silly idea but what owrkso n TV versus what makes sense is totally different.

Ps you can tell SBS ot hire me and watch the ratins go through the roof untill the Telyoucrap paper finds out I had a gangbang in kings cross 9 years ago.

every time i watch the show it annoys me more and more.
if the commentators weren't so animated in everything they do it would be bearable to watch

I don't like it as much as the UK one but its improving every episode
they just have to find their own unique focal points

Well, the whole Ben Collins being the Stig thing has come up again in the media. And I think by BBC trying to sue him, they themselves will be revealing who the Stig is. Kind of silly really, as that would annul their lawsuit against him instantly, as it would be them [the BBC] that reveal who the Stig is...

I used the search, you farkers!

see search works yeah they are suing him cause he wanted to write a biography...and cause of his contract he isnt aloud to tell anyone he is the stig...only him being outed cause his company Colins Motorsports doesnt "STUNT DRIVING" for the BBC show topgear...so people have put 1 & 2 together to get Collins is THE STIG ...who cares really...i dont care whos driving it...i dont care if its the stig...i dont care if he is still called the stig but we know his name... ive never really understood the whole secracy of who it is...its a bit of a publicity thing i think myself...

The BBC care!

But his intention is not something he can be sued for, only action. And the action of revealing his identity will ultimately come from the BBC by pre-emptively trying to prevent him from revealing his identity. Circular logic at it's best!

And the search wasn't that great, as I was looking for the thread I started last year called "Ben Collins is the Stig!", and I couldn't find it with the search, so this had to do... And I CBF'd going to my profile and looking for threads I have started!
