B8 Head on BP Block

Is it possible to place a B8 Head on to a BG SP BP block without any major modifications?

Any help would be great

B8 and BP engines share the same block.

Cool, would there be a significant power boost if I did this?

I read something somewhere that there was a B8 engine that was pulling out 168 BHP, so I thought I might get more power

B8 has less power standard than a BP engine.

I've been doing research, the only reason I want a SOHC is temporary cause my DOHC head is cracked

not looking hard enough?

any wrecker will have 1 or more Astina/Protege/Laser with a BP in it, or least removed sitting around.

or they can get it from interstate if you ask.

It's not going to help now, I only took the block off yesterday, it's annoying me now, but I am going to fix it.
