De-CAT exhaust
Has anyone with a BA removed the CAT (de-catted) their exhaust systems?
If so how much power can be gained from this? Thanks Craig |

The most popular way is to remove it and use a big screwdriver and a hammer to hollow it out, as Sirex said it only changes the note. The only reason I would contemplate this is if I was changing to a bigger exhaust (the inlet and outlet of the cat would be the size of the standard exhaust) and then you'd have the exhaust shop not include it.
I'd check with your local agencies as to the legalities  Rod

Removing the cat on a BP adds about 4 kw. Australian BG SP (GT to you) had cat fitted and 92 kw whereas the first batch of UK spec cars were no-cat and 96kw. Same engine, so figures should be similar.
