BA V6 Gear Box Oil
How do you know when you need to change the transmission oil? Ive drove my car for 140,000+ kms without changing it, is that bad? I drive manual, and the gear changes where alot smoother when I first bought the car...so Im guessing its time to change that oil
I've read the posts about changing your gear box oil, but I don't know where to locate the gear box oil container under the bonnet? Can some submit an image please, possibly with some more detailed instructions for dummies like me? Thanks heaps |

This is where it gets tricky
You will find a drain plug underneath the gearbox And for the fill point (you will notice the gearbox itself is 3 pieces) There is another bolt in the second compartment towards the end of the box (facing forward), this is where you will need a length of hose and a funnel, and fill'er up till she spews I would also recommend changing your gearbox oil slightly more frequently, maybe once a year? |
